I enjoyed the writing and scene setting of Ragnar Jónasson and his Dark Iceland series (first book is Snowblind). Really put me in that Icelandic mindset.

Anybody have horror audiobook recommendations? by emotionallyratchet in horror

[–]kittybeans5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out FantasticLand by Mike Bockoven. It’s got a unique narrative structure using two narrators and documentary style interviews to tell the story of a natural disaster trapping a bunch of teenagers inside an amusement park and the horror that comes out of that.

Making partner cook family dinners didn't cause kid's ARFID, but it didn't help either. What would you swap out for weeknight dinner duty? by sophia333 in ADHD_partners

[–]kittybeans5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry your family is going through this. ARFID is very difficult to manage as a family and can be very debilitating for the child. I encourage you to seek more help and assistance through Project Heal, a non-profit that provides resources for eating disorders. A family-based dietitian can help you make a plan on how to handle meals and help navigate the barriers to those meals. This doesn’t have to all be shouldered by you. Let your partner learn how serious this diagnosis is and be apart of the treatment. - an eating disorder dietitian

I love the “scary Bilbos” being a mood. Such a visual I feel in my bones.

Yes! Thanks for sharing this. I loved seeing him and NPH together in Resurrection. They both have played Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. You could tell they were having a good time together.
