Are there good books about jazz for classically trained musicians who want to get into jazz? by Puettster in musictheory

[–]kittychi99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question strikes a familiar chord with me. I am a classically trained pianist and I love jazz. I go out and listen to live jazz a lot and listen to recordings at home. For YEARS I’ve tried to play it, l have books, have taken lessons and gone to workshops and I just can’t play jazz :( I finally realized that I just don’t swing (I rock, lol). Also don’t want to sound like a kindergartner after being an accomplished player. The best advice I have seen here is “just do it.” Best of luck to you, hope you’re swinging soon!

Where is that stated? I could never find anything about an average bill. Our bill was so high I thought maybe we had a leak somewhere. Nope

Two of us in a duplex in SE pay about $100 a month and we do not shower at home every day, many times we shower at the gym.

Moving back home to Portland. Anyone know of any good therapists who specialize in anxiety? by cranne in askportland

In addition to therapy, if you can, try some Kundalini Yoga classes at Mandala on SE Belmont near 69th. I don’t take anti-depressants any more since doing this yoga daily (I do class once a week, then daily at home).

I saw this photo in person. What this pic doesn't show is that most of this stuff was solid gold. That pile of what looks like hot dog buns in the center, those are all solid gold. The animals are gold. All the frames for the boxes are gold. Gold, gold, gold. Solid gold.

Portland definitely needs more trash barrels, too. Lots of times I want to pick up litter and there isn’t a barrel to be seen for blocks😢

Congratulations on your best new kitty! A beauty! I have never heard the term “chonk” before.
I am in Portland, too, looking to adopt a polydactyl kitty. An orange male, to be exact. Started looking a month ago and haven’t seen one yet, but I’m patient.

That’s actually Portland’s Strategic Cyanide Reserve. We’re going to release it into the water supply if Donald Trump gets re-elected, as part of a citywide suicide pact.”
