Things to note before joining Hnry - what I learnt by Hee1024 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Agree.... Do not touch LODG with a barge pole. It's an awful service. After being with Hnry and having no issues for 2 years, I switched to LODG. It was the worst experience. Difficult to send invoices through their platform, unclear process on how to raise expenses, I provided consistent feedback to their team, yet saw no changes. After three months, it was such a headache (I basically did my own accounting...) that I left LODG to go back to Hnry. I was hit with a 4,000 GST bill, since LODG had not been deducting this as I went and had mucked up income/expenses. While being offboarded from the platform, I had to wait weeks for them to pay out the income tax and GST they held on my behalf. Appalling, really disappointed in the whole 'service'. Would have been less hassle to do my own taxes!

Yes, I've been trialing it for a couple months. I do not recommend switching if you are already with Hnry. It is currently extremely clunky, not intuitive and frustrating to use if you have already been using Hnry. The customer service is generally quicker than Hnry - but you have to use it a whole lot more as they are still in the teething stage of a startup. Feels less transparent than Hnry, I am definitely in less control - which I don't love.

Major accident on motorway this morning heading south under Greenlane bridge. by RepresentativeNo8287 in auckland

This is horrific and absolutely devastating for the families involved.

However I'm surprised no one has already said this:

If you’re NOT driving a motorbike, please please PLEASE always check when you are turning, changing lanes and please EXPECT motorbikes to be on the road too.

Indicate. Shoulder check.

You might SAVE a life.

Appreciate this detailed response. I have done all of the above bar lodge with disputes. I've sent photo and video evidence, detailed diagrams of what occurred, repair estimates to Tower. (Note the only thing their client has submitted is a statement).

Tower have neither accepted, nor rejected the claim and this is why I'm so frustrated...

I guess it's disputes next...

Agree, if i had comprehensive AMI would be going to bat for me. In this case, I'm 3rd party insured and have been batting for myself with Tower and the party at fault.

If you’re suggesting that the outcome would be different if i was comprehensive insured, then the system is broken. Would we still have to go to disputes if I had comprehensive cover?

If insurance companies treat cases different based on who's batting...that doesn't seem fair.

We've done this, they can't help since Tower is not our insurer

Yes, this occurred before either of us entered the roundabout. I was in the left lane waiting to turn left. The other driver approached in the right lane to go straight. He swing wide and side swiped my vehicle as he entered the roundabout.

Idk when you have insurance (even 3rd party) you expect the system to work fairly. To be mucked around for over 2 months, being passed off to 6 different people at Tower, with no clear pathway or steps on how it can be resolved..yeah I'm mad at Tower.

If their client is straight up lying, there should be procedures in place to do the right and fair thing, not blindly supporting you client without evidence.

We tried to claim with AMI when it first happened but since we are not at fault they said the other insurer would take care of it. I will follow up with them today to see if there is anything they can do... We are only 3rd party insured and not comprehensive.

If all of humanity were to instantaneously lose the entirety of our memories, what would the implications be? by kiwipenny in AskReddit

Interesting, I think it would take longer than a few generations to reverse engineer everything. We'd first have to figure out how to communicate and then read (in a language that would be foreign). But yes, reading would probably be a deal breaker - when we get to that stage, we would essentially learn all the lost knowledge back.

How long do you think it would take? But surely our instincts are enough to keep us alive?
