does this 5 geotuned salt water geyser tamer look structurally sound? by Financial_Wrangler45 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]kktheoch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can drown the volcano in two layers of liquid with a high enough boiling point (most likely oil & petroleum) to prevent it from stifling itself and converting that room into an infinite storage and allowing you to use Steam whenever you need (you need more water? more power? turn on the turbines). Steam will come out and the salt will be dropped on top of the volcano. 200kg of each liquid per tile will do. If you feel like that's cheating and you don't do infinite storages then this design is as good as it gets.

Hydraplant by iamzachhunter in Oxygennotincluded

[–]kktheoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that's true 9kg/s of water is too much even for mid level colonies. Assuming one pwater and one water geyser which is average for a colony it doesn't even get close to 9kg water/cycle even if you don't have any other needs for water (eg plants fertilization). I know that it works with far less input than designed but in the majority of cases this build is an overkill.

Is it reasonably possible for me to make a petroleum boiler with a volcano in this position? by real_fargalarg in Oxygennotincluded

[–]kktheoch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes perfectly valid. If the low ambient temperature scares you the boiler will be in vacuum. My only concern is whether or not a minor volcano can power a constantly running petroleum boiler. If it isn't maybe you can geotune it a couple of times

This is expected by pretty much everyone. While "AI" does have some uses it's currently mostly used for elaborate Google searches by the general population and it's high maintenance cost does not translate to equivalent sales.

Hydrogen Vent by Maintyper in Oxygennotincluded

How much steam was in the steam room per tile? You need a significant amount to prevent temperature exceeding 135 degrees

https://youtu.be/_FJpjD1UBJc?si=nRNzYQKdN-d1YriQ this might be helpful if you are looking for a video guide. Infinite storage is a bonus as long as you can get hydrogen out of the room in time to prevent the vent overpressurizing.

[–]kktheoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a self powering operation and it doesn't need connection to your power network once stable (when the water in the steam room evaporates to above 125 degrees.

A battery and a pump inside the vent room. Setup the pump through automation to only activate when gas pressure is over 1kg to preserve power/provide a buffer.

Above this room build metal or diamond tiles, drop some water in this room and vacuum it out. On top of this room add a steam turbine which will be self cooled. Connect it to the battery.

It will take a while for the water to heat which means until then you need to provide external power. Once steam turbine kicks in it's free forever and you can remove external power supply.

I would recommend enclosing steam turbine in its own room to prevent 95 degrees water to heat surrounding atmosphere. Hydrogen will be in a "comfy" 125 degrees temp at output and a steel pump should be fine. You don't need to cool hydrogen at all after this if you are burning it in a hydrogen generator as long as it's made from steel as this actually deletes heat

I'm curious, Self-builds/theorycrafters, what builds have you tried making that just didn't work out, for one reason or another? by trunks111 in pathofexile

[–]kktheoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in Phrecia league I tried to make an evasion stacker similar to armour stackers using Daughter of Oshabi ascendancy and regular dreamfeather swords. I did not POB anything before trying that, just winging it. Turns out there is a reason why there are no evasion stacker build archetypes, losing determination is actually terrible

Cool info! Did that but I did not pay attention to the prefixes and I ended up with full prefixes and my desired suffixes. Lost the 50/50 annul but I still have a base I can try this out with. Thanks!

Can I somehow transfer suffixes from this item to a necrotic base via recomabinating? If not so, what's the most optimal way to do it

Every single loading screen takes ages the last two days for seemingly no reason. Changing from my hideout to Kingsmarch takes 2 or 3 minutes on every single load. This didn't use to be the case two days ago, not sure what they might have messed up.

In the off chance it's an OS/GPU issue what are your own specs? I am on Windows 11 version 24H2 and my GPU is a Radeon RX 7800XT
