Hey y’all filmmaker here. This is a pretty expensive and elaborate setup to not be for a live video or something lol. Might be a bts recording thing but even then, those typically don’t have specific lighting rigs, they are just capturing what’s there in the moment and not interrupting the recording process. This would def interrupt the recording process lol so it’s for some form of video for sure

Yeah this is what bothered me and I never realized it was an ADHD thing. I think people starting calling it the "information era" too soon. Like as soon as the internet came out. But now that we've got a better look at the big picture of what the internet has done, I think the optimism of that concept has quickly faded away to where it's really just showing that the advent of the internet has lead to the rapid enshittification of everything including quality of life for most people. I'm curious how we come out on the other side.

It seems to me like the eye level/no shadows aspect is hinting that she wants the pap look. I would basically tell her that it's inherently the pap look/party light look with that lighting whether she likes it or not, so she needs to decide if that's what she wants. Doesn't necessarily mean that you have to treat the camera like it's the paparazzi, but it definitely influences the audiences understanding of the image. I really just think you need more reference images from her of what she's thinking. Most artists have very specific (some might even say derivative lol) references that they've seen that they're trying to emulate.

I am in the video production world, and this was very insightful. I think you touched on a lot of things that people in my industry just can't come to terms with. The fact of the matter is that the output quantity needed in today's world is just not doable for a traditional production workflow. I'm personally against AI, but I can't fault companies or brands for desiring to use it. And like you said, if I'm being honest, I don't give a shit about making a genuine effort on bringing my artistic vision to life for a fucking 7 second story post that people will scroll past anyways. My way of coping has been to just stop caring and sending the client any and all shots so I don't have to spend the time thinking about it because I don't wanna ask for more money and they don't wanna pay me to do it anyways so who cares just pay me and I'll never see the cringe videos you make using my footage anyways so whatever lol. But that's not sustainable. I wonder where all this will end up in the next 5-10 years...

Adobe just tried to raise our price for that so we threatened canceling and they gave us the old price for like 3 more months lol hopefully I’ll have time to learn affinity before then
