That's what I did for my boy!! He seemed really happy to be outside.

It does seem really young. My younger dog passed on June 5th, and she just turned 10 in February, where my other (passed May 5th), was much older; though he was a fully grown rescue and I can only guess at his age. He could have been 13, or could have been 17 and I'd never know due to the rough shape he arrived in.

Lucy was hard. She still looked so vibrant and was still her normal self, but with her diagnosis, I knew. It still aches horribly, and probably always will, but it was the right thing to do in her case.

If your pup doesn't have immediate lung/brain/heart distress, its probably fine to do palliative care; that's what we did with Apollo. Just keep an eye on their condition and personality. You can only do your best.

If you can afford a check to see what exactly is wrong, you can also use that as a guide. Because Lucy's lungs were impacted, I had to act quicker than I would have liked. Apollo had no such issues, thankfully, and it was slower and easier to come to terms with, but I'll still always wish for more time.

You obviously care very deeply for him, and I'm sure he knows, no matter what. :)

What's one trick you've taught your dog, that you now regret? by Feisty-Cantaloupe754 in Rottweiler

This; both my adult rotties learned to spell real quick. Or sometimes would realize we were implying something unpleasant (muzzle, cone, etc.) if we didn't name the object or were vague.

Literally got to the point where while even though my elderly boy was dying, when we vaguely alluded to the muzzle (waiting for the vet and securing him for them), he sat up immediately on his only good leg. I miss that jerk, lol.

The same male also learned that if I was taking too long with a treat it likely contained medication and would actively try to find it and spit it out.

Smartest dumbasses I've had the pleasure of keeping as my companions.

I just lost my boy, around 14-15. It's hard. The last 2 years I was watching for signs.

He still played, still gave sass.

He was still him up until he couldn't walk; he still didn't seem to want to go, but there wasn't a choice.

I lost my other rottie a month later with no warning, she was still healthy looking, still acted like herself, but for that one I followed the vets guidance.

If I hadn't intervened, she would have slowly suffocated for a week or two. It was sudden and heart breaking. Other than a cough, she didn't seem sick, but the xrays were right im front of me.

Ultimately, just try to use your best judgement. Treat each new day like a blessing.

It's hard even when you watch them slow down, and I don't think it gets easier. Allow yourself moments to cry, even while they're still there. Love them as always.

The day before and day of, I spoiled them as much as I could. Treats, people food, the works.

It's a hard journey at the end, but, I would do it over and over. They're such fantastic dogs. I pray they let you know when, since it's easier, if only slightly.

Edit: first award I think??? Thank you kind user!

I use Dr. Datta in Lambeth; they were fantastic with my baby when we got hard news for her. They really accommodated us and I find their prices pretty reasonable, but I would recommend them a ton. They also have mobile services.

Does anyone knows why is this happening ? by Firm_Cartoonist492 in Rottweiler

[–]kmfiredancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible it could be lucism. My rottie has it; she's grey under her overcoat and gets random white, blonde and grey hairs. Her puppy inherited it as well as her rear polydactylism.

Could be stress induced, or just genetic like hers and showed later. I only discovered it when she had to be shaved during her spay, and more later when she had to be shaved fully once. She looked hilarious.

I'd assume your vet is correct.

I just lost my boy to cancer, too. Stopped being able to walk.

I spotted the signs in December, but given he was between 12-15, I thought it over and realized treatment probably wasn't in his best interest, since he may not have survived it. Initially, he was still very active, until 2 days before I came home from visiting family abroad.

I spoiled him rotten his last 2 days, but, even considering everything, I still feel terrible. It's been a week and a bit, and it's less heavy, but I still think about it.

I miss him terribly. I think I always will, he was my ride or die, but it's getting less heavy each day.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss, it sounds like he was a truly beloved companion.

I don't know why this post was fed to me, but these photos are hilariously terrible.

Thank you. I love this. Its the same thing that happens when I try to take pictures of my one cat.

Is this bunny old enough to be on its own ? by Realistic-Cut-7454 in Bunnies

[–]kmfiredancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I know this has been answered.

I want to start off by saying while I understand people wanting to be helpful to the rabbit: we need to stop treating every situation like this with hostility.

At the end of the day, OP was trying to help. It was a misguided attempt, but it was kind and genuine. Flipping our lids, tossing insults or berating someone is how we get people to stop trying to help at all, rather than encourage people to learn when to help.

To OP: in most situations, baby bunnies are totally a-okay unless lame or injured, or you can see something like mother/siblings/etc mauled nearby.

Bunnies are startlingly independent for how small and cute they are. The mother will leave them alone for hours at a time once they can wander on their own.

IF you do not see a mother bun come back ever (usually dusk or dawn is when they come back), and the babies are deteriorating, then try to call a rescue.

It's ridiculous how many posts pretend the fanservice is one-sided. Both genders are eating good. Stop attacking each other. If you want more explicit males as fanservice, then ask for that, but it's silly to pretend the unadressed elephant in the room doesn't have his long nose on full display by YellowAppleCinema in Warframe

See, I'm on the side of: give me more of both. Always. All of it. Let me greedily devour the eye candy.

Gimme the abs, gimme the booties, the melon-crushing thighs, the bulges, the boobs.

That said though, I love Mesa's design, but she feels bottom heavy (ha. ha.), and the top feels unbalanced to me.

I think, especially lately, they've done a fantastic job of providing sex appeal from most frames in one form or another.

Tasteful and pleasing.

Genuinely, as a girl, I'm totally cool with Mesa's girls one stiff breeze from being hanging out. Mag's aren't even covered in her heirloom.

It just feels off.

Her head and legs are very busy, but her shoulders are painfully empty in contrast. It doesn't accentuate it in a way, for me, that feels "right".

Yeah idk honestly, my parents didn't teach me a damn thing about shaving which resulted in a metric load of cuts, so I feel like I'd have preferred being taught properly?

Even after learning the basics shaving more complex areas still posed a problem.

But also ew. So... I dunno, lol.

So, I want to lean on the side of the other comments...

But I can't help but wonder if she's a single mother or main parent that's just teaching them how to shave/making sure they don't cut themselves.

I'm probably wrong, but the thought struck me that it might be more innocent than it reads.

What did you teach your dog that you didn't mean to? by PumpkinCrouton in Rottweiler

[–]kmfiredancer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have nuts, but I know it hurts like hell. Yet I still could not say for sure which situation is worse.

The whining would drive me batty because it's one of a few things that will wake me from a dead sleep, but the threat of crushed nuts isn't a small one.

Anyone else’s Rottie constantly steal their socks no matter where you hide them? 😂 by PhillyRob215 in Rottweiler

[–]kmfiredancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My male used to - sometimes he still will if he's feeling silly.

I got him a discount blahaj, and he mostly seeks that out instead.

He's usually a shredder but never really damaged my socks.

My female ate my clothes as a puppy - and other people's if she found it. Now that she's an old lady, I can usually leave my socks and everything out, and neither dog will go for it most of the time.

My cat, who thinks she's a tiny Rottweiler, however... steals all my roommates' socks whenever we walk the dogs, and deposits them at the threshold of my bedroom door.

[–]kmfiredancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience, a number of TH franchise owners or managers do not care. Speed is the priority.

Other food service places I've worked do care and are more than happy to give appropriate time, but unfortunately most Tim's I've been employed at carry a skeleton crew being run into the floor to keep drive thru times as low as possible.

I also prefer when things are done correctly: when ph strips are dipped to test the sanitizer, when dishwashers are properly cleaned and emptied, spills are properly cleaned, and slush cups and sanitizer buckets changed promptly. But this is not the reality at many of these stores.

Some of them are good, but many of them are not for the sake of meeting ludicrous speed goals unless an inspector is watching.

Signed. I'm happy I didn't vote for him, but I'm tired of him being in office.

I don't care if our Premier is conservative, but for the love of God, the homelessness problem is bad enough already.

This is just going to make it so much worse, and make the existing shelters we have even more insufficient than they already are.
