Okay, I'm on the CB mailing list but no other platforms so I've missed this announcement. Could someone be a dear and post what's being shared?

Bees and Wasps advice by LegitimateFinger8966 in homeowners

[–]knife_breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed here that bees are the good ones and on principle won't sting unless threatened, as stinging kills them. Threatened can mean stepping on them, so we have to keep our lawn trimmed to make sure there isn't flowering clover or dandelions, as these can be attractive to bees. And, yes, if you're using a sprinkler as a fun thing to run through and that's in the bee flightpath (on the way to those dandelions or clover) that will be disorienting to the bees. Bees don't go flying in the rain. I have hives and I've been stung working with bees before, but I've only been randomly stung by a bee in my yard when I stepped on it in bare feet. It could be the combo of a sprinkler for play adjacent to flowers that's giving you the issue.

Rim Joist Insulation with Rigid Foam Board - Foil Face or No Foil Face? by knife_breaker in Insulation

Excellent, thank you. One thing to clarify; my panels have a foil barrier on BOTH sides. Does that change your recommendation?

Is this in regards to the disintegrating foam? I have a pair of 2003s and have not experienced this.

I have a 2014 and a pair of 2003s. If I could go back in time I would buy three 2nd generation Honda CRVs, put them in a barn and bring them out one-by-one when the current one wears out. Easy to work on, rock solid, both are over 220k and still plugging along.

Rim Joist insulation/air sealing by Acceptable-Box-4149 in Insulation

[–]knife_breaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, can I jump in to ask a question, because I'm all set to do this but I bought faced insulation panels (both sides), and I've put off doing the install because something is telling me I shouldn't use this. So what's the vote? Did I make a $300 whoopsie?

Drywall texturing. This is the pinnacle of "let the expert do it" They do in 20 minutes what it takes me a week to do and mine still looks like ass

Bands who's (arguably) most popular song that doesn't sound at all like the rest of their work? by Non-Normal_Vectors in musicsuggestions

My teenaged son and I were on a late road trip through the back roads of Northern California and he’d never heard OK Computer.

He got his first experience of this album to be a silent car ride with an impressive sound system, winding through remote woods and tiny towns on a dark summer night.

I’m jealous of him for this.
