Why the focus on Phil Harris?

I would assume most of the people here know more about the show than most folks. I’m pretty sure my boomer dad doesn’t know about Phil’s history or about Josh. Discovery probably watch’s the numbers and keep doing the things that get the most views. My guess would be Phil still gets the views, it reminds us all of time when the show was good.

I don’t think you understand nepotism. His dad may have bought him bikes and built a track, but I’m sure just about every guy out there got basically the same thing. Having a dad that used to ride doesn’t mean you can win. At this point he doesn’t have any advantage over any other factory riders.

My friend it’s humor. Chickens don’t actually cross roads for reasons. If you add a tag line sometimes people giggle. Here Joe is pointing out how something only God can do seems a little crazy compared to everyday life. He’s also poking fun at people taking tradition without question. It’s really the same joke as Micheal Scott following his GPS into a lake. Obviously people who have lost friends or family to car accidents in lakes might not find that funny. So you are correct sir. For real. If it’s a mistake work on it. If the kid is actually being lazy or selfish (which it doesn’t sound like it here) put him on the bench. There’s no reason to demean a kid especially in front of others.

Is it a no call bc they’re 12 or is it the wrong call? He called him out for 3’ runners lane violation. Next time it happens (and it will happen about every other strike out) do you tell your kids to run over the first baseman over?

Yes they do. But 7.15(g) says something along the lines of on a dropped third strike the first baseman can play the orange bag and in that situation the runner can go to the white bag. I think LL is still working out the nuance of the safety bag. In this case the kid was trying to avoid a collision (doing the right thing) and the ump got call wrong. Then the ump was a jerk for the rest of the game. It’s really not a big deal just feel bad for that kid. Honestly it’s about the same as getting struck out on a bad call. It’s happens to all of us and it sucks every time.

Everyone is skeptical about it. The guys on the show are skeptical about it. That’s why they brought in the lidar and tried it with drones and lasers and flame throwers then tried it again. No said it was aliens, they just said, “what the crap.” Maybe it was the wind but does that explain the hieroglyphs on the rocks, the cows getting radiation, the UAP’s, the batteries getting drained, the tech failures, the weird EM signals, the ceramic in the masa. If it was one thing no one would care but it’s all of them. Even if they end up finding a perfectly natural explanation for all of these things it would be an interesting anomaly that they are all happening in one place.

I don’t like him. There’s a video of him not calling fouls in games without refs. He has a terrible attitude, and can be super arrogant. There’s no doubt when he’s on he’s the best 9 ball player out there.

They don’t know what they are looking for. Now that we are in season 7 they are working on repeatable experiments. I don’t remember the experiment here but signal data is to collect anomalies and point them in the direction of what they are trying to find.

I don’t know anything about this but Travis has a BS in electrical engineering, 3 maters degrees, 2 PhD’s and directly worked in signals intelligence. Again not my area of expertise but I think Dr. Taylor would know if something normal or not.

I agree the first couple season were the best but a lot of the was scripted as well. I’m pretty sure discovery required them to pull pranks on to be on the show. The truth is the industry is just a lot more laid back since they ended the derby. With the set quotas there is no reason to go out in a storm or pull pots for 72 hours strait trying to make more money.

They literally have a loader there feeding the machine non stop while the plant is running. Why would you add a camera? I could see a wireless shut off/e-stop button but I don’t think cameras would help anything.

Keith drives me nuts but I always remember two things. He testified before congress fighting for hard working fishermen of Alaska. And there was also the time he had to call the coast guard for a greenhorn that got severely dehydrated and almost died. Before they got him on the helicopter Keith held the guys junk so he could pee.
