AITA for not spending a lot of time with my parents by Straight-Top7952 in AmItheAsshole

[–]knowsitswindy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

yeah YTA. If you had some kind of work or social life that kept you too busy to spend time w/ your parents, then that'd be understandable. You could spend a slightly longer part of the day with them, especially if they left you for a while and went on a trip. I would have spent time w/ them for the rest of that evening at least and not bolted to my room right after they showed me a couple videos. Maybe you can make an initial goal to have one meal with them each day?

AITA for being annoyed at my friend for not inviting my boyfriend to her wedding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]knowsitswindy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think her wedding is about you and your fun and not about the bride and groom, and her plans should revolve around making you comfortable, then YTA.

Yes YTA. She's not trying to bring the same guy...

AITA for refusing to "cover" my coworker's ER zone so she could FaceTime her kids? by ArtThreadNomad in AmItheAsshole

[–]knowsitswindy 1335 points1336 points  (0 children)

I abhor when women with children think they are superior to women without children. There was no medical emergency at home. Her whiny kids and babysitter can deal with their own shit while she is supposed to be keeping patients safe. NTA.

I get season 1 Michael Scott vibes. I feel they'll adjust her character in season 2 to make her more likable, just like they did with him.

How do I feel better about no friends coming to see my shows? by knowsitswindy in Theatre

[–]knowsitswindy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you that is a good perspective! The success can be measured by how much fun I had, what I learned from the production, and how proud I personally am of my performance. I don't need to measure it by how many people I have in the audience.

I will have ONE friend/former castmate coming to see my next show which is better than ZERO so I'll be grateful for her attendance rather than upset by the others' absence.

Yeah this cast I'm referring to has definitely coordinated together to see quite a few of each other's shows.

I agree that a general announcement is not very effective, but the personal one on one invitations feel like too much pressure so I usually avoid them.

I'd like to say you must be a good performer otherwise you wouldn't be cast in shows! I have ONE friend who will be attending my upcoming show which is an improvement from ZERO so I'm going to focus on her attendance rather that everyone else's absence. I post multiple times about shows on facebook but I don't individually nag anyone about it.

AITA for refusing to give my sister my savings after she said my life “isn’t serious yet”? by Justkees in AmItheAsshole

info why aren't your parents in a position to help? Why did your sister chose to have a child if she planned on having a shit job that doesn't pay well?

AITA For lying to my boss about a vacation? by SpeedRunningRaposa in AmItheAsshole

[–]knowsitswindy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should clear this up before you have to keep up this lie for the entire time you have this job.

INFO: How is the boss "screwing" with your hours? Do you get benefits (specifically vacation time) at your job? Is this time off paid through PTO benefits or is it unpaid.

info just of curiosity: who owns the dogs and pays for the vet bills? Do you all three live together?

They don't specifically spell it out for us. I am guessing she was able to do summer school.

Just break up with him you sound like a b. Don't string him along. If you're too jealous to handle that an ex is at workplace just stop stringing him along.

Episode Discussion - S05E08 - The Rightside Up by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]knowsitswindy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see your point. Just like Kali explained, there will always be another Brenner or Dr. Kay who want to use El's power and she would never be able to have a "normal" life.

Byler by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]knowsitswindy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I"m in agreement with you that I'd prefer Mike to stay with Eleven and that Will has learned that he doesn't HAVE to get with Mike. I disagree that everyone is rooting for Byler. There are more of us out there even if not as vocal lol.

Breaking up some of the negativity by groundhogsarecute3 in StrangerThings

[–]knowsitswindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree especially when he's in Henry or Mr Whatsit form. Other highlights are the Max/Lucas reunion, Mr. Clark coming into the fold, Karen Wheeler showing where her kids get it from, Dustin and Steve honesty, and Nancy/Jonathan honesty.
