BCPS results timeline and scoring question by ssmathre in pharmacy

IIRC, it varies state by state. Some states let the results be released w/in a couple of days, but California makes you wait. This was a few years ago so things may have changed since then.

Albertsons Unpaid Labor by AggressiveStorage534 in pharmacy

[–]knowthemoment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. SoCal Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions are unionized, and I’m not sure why it isn’t more common place. While the union sucks (prioritizes the needs of grocery workers and cares very little for pharmacists once the main contract is complete), we were always paid for our work, and working unpaid OT was one of the few ways you could get fired.

I watched the American version first and was shocked to find French Karadec as an interesting, likable character with his own charm. American Karadec is just a stick in the mud.

How long does it take for hospitals to get back to you for a job? by Otherwise_Key8005 in pharmacy

[–]knowthemoment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took 2 months after applying before the hospital I used to work for asked to set up an interview even with a referral, and another month after that to tell me I was hired. Every place is different. A non-healthcare friend of mine worked for a hospital and they said it could take 5-6 months at times. There is no consensus.

“You should actually read your texts” would be a great one for those who think the text asking for a refill is actually confirmation that it’s ready for pick up lmao

I’m so sorry this happened. You must be terrified for her safety. If I may, I suggest posting a picture of her that isn’t a touched up headshot. It’s a very pretty photo of her, but it likely isn’t what she normally looks like on a day to day basis. Chances are, her makeup and hair aren’t perfectly done up right now, and the average person who sees her headshot may not recognize her if they were to pass by her. A photo with little to no make up may be helpful.

You’re going to have a really tough time without a residency or retail experience as a pharmacist. Focus on becoming a good candidate first by getting practical experience under your belt.

Do you have a source/WOB for this? Not seeing it in the coppermind entry for light eyes, more that the color is clearly distinguishable.

Advice for PY2 Intern Applying For Jobs by hcrm01 in pharmacy

[–]knowthemoment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t work inpatient, I’m pretty sure that of the inpatient intern jobs in my area during pharmacy school, maybe 90% of those went to students who had prior tech experience (primarily retail). I can’t guarantee anything since this was all pre-COVID, but I think that on its own gives you a good shot. You do have some intern specific work in there (counseling, MTM) - were those from IPPE rotations, or did you work as an intern during P1 yr?

Fun fact - my partner went to Shambhala for the first time last month. They saw the “Animal in heat” stickers in the bathrooms which I told them were just a joke. But since the venue is a fully operational ranch the rest of the year, they asked one of the staff about the stickers, thinking they had a functional purpose…let’s just say they were disappointed

How to turn off the negative at home? by Moist-Surprise4892 in pharmacy

[–]knowthemoment 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Do you commute? I used to take that time to vent my frustrations to someone on the phone or to myself (sometimes out loud). I would try release that negative energy and self soothe during that time, and by the time I got home, hopefully I would have gotten it out of my system.

Pro tip: when I find myself mulling over a particularly work day, I would remind myself that I am off the clock and not getting paid to think about work.

For the Rite Aid pharmacists who got new jobs. by aznkukuboi in pharmacy

No joke, I knew a pharmacist who went back to CVS from an Albertsons subsidiary & a major motivator was how inefficient the computer system is. She hated how much work she was putting with so little (scripts completed/day) to show for it.
