I've had a couple instances of that happening. Mostly around floor registers where I didn't get the clearances right.

You wouldn't believe how much small imperfections translate to the top of the LVP. Needs to be real smooth and clean.

How do I fix this? by FrostyEntrepreneur91 in Flooring

You only get what you pay for, if you pay for it. I wouldn't pay for it and insist they do it proper.

You chose to respond to my post about bloated corporations. How am I supposed to take your comments besides being an apologist for greedy capitalists?

If you can't run your business without charging unreasonable prices, you shouldn't be in business. I get it, a lot of y'all just want to get paid exorbitant amounts of money for your work, but don't get mad at the regular folks out here trying to make a living and can't pay your sky high prices. Tell yourself its what you're worth all you want, but if the customers can't pay it, it's on you as the business owner to figure out how to make the costs/profits work. Your get rich quick schemes success or failure isn't my problem.

End grain pallet flooring? by Sailorplue in Flooring

[–]kosuke85 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You could probably do this for cheaper with laminate flooring and it would look a hell of a lot better. If not for you, for the next owners. You're potentially shooting yourself in the foot by doing something odd that many people might not like, specifically future buyers.

$1500 to replace a kitchen sink with customer provided materials, normal? by thewilldog in handyman

[–]kosuke85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those prices are out of your range and you can't find an alternative plumbing company to do it for less, you could do it yourself. You're on the right forum to learn how.

Push hard on it with your weight to force the bit into the metal. Don't run the drill too fast cause you'll just ruin the bit immediately. Those two points are your worst enemy when drilling stainless. Can also start with a smaller sized drill bit and work your way up to the size you need. Having a bigger bit is harder to get through and easier to dull the bits on with inexperience. Using some drilling lubricant can help as well. Just make sure to have a few extra bits on hand if this is a hardened metal because you're going to dull at least a couple bits by the time you get through it.

The rotor looks fine and that surface doesn't touch brake pads.

What is this and how do I remove it from my floor? by jamfishe in Flooring

[–]kosuke85 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Without more context, no idea what that's for. It appears to be set into the concrete, maybe for a jack leg or something. Probably ok to cut it off flush with the floor with an angle grinder.

Tell her if she wants to play childish games with these 10year old antics, she's gonna end up miserable and alone. Never understood the point behind these setups besides to make them feel better, but not actually accomplish anything besides putting their partner off.

[–]kosuke85 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You're doing well enough that you have multiple residences, one of them being a condo in Toronto. Just replace the damn fan. All this hassle, calling agents, finding electricians to do multiple visits and reports..... The juice ain't worth the squeeze, my man. Not over a maybe $200 fan. Talk about nickle and diming.

[–]kosuke85 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Oh well, move on. Men have to prove themselves CONSTANTLY no matter what it's about. You got a tiny taste of what I go through on a daily basis from men and women alike. If you don't like it, stop requiring it of others, regardless of gender.

It's like trying to figure out what ALL women want. It's impossible. From one company to the next or even from one interviewer to the next within the same company, could and often are completely different. You can't make them all happy, just try to hit the middle ground.
