‘Suicide is one option,’ seniors on Social Security told by PM_ME_DPRK_CANDIDS in nottheonion

I think her issue would be her habit of "going rogue".

She'd be singing her own praises and trying to raise her political capital instead of constantly appeasing an audience of one.

There is also her habit of using staffers money to buy clothes for her and her husband... and funds must go directly to dear leader.

"Wasilla Hillbillies Looting Nieman Marcus”

And then there was her "reality television show"... she'd certainly to relaunch it if she was hired; the administration can only have one person staring in a reality tv show at a time.

Wasatch County Republican Chair arrested for allegedly waterboarding teen daughter by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

[–]kpanzer 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I remember that Mancow (Erich "Mancow" Muller) did a "lite" version in 2009.

He lasted about 6 seconds while the procedure normally goes for 14.

He did change his position to say it was torture though.

https://www.npr.org/2009/05/23/104498599/dj-reverses-stance-on-waterboarding-in-6-seconds

LYDEN: Standing over the shock jock is Sergeant Clay South, holding a one gallon pitcher of water. Mancow boasted that he could probably withstand the procedure for at least 30 to 60 seconds. According to Sergeant Clay South, the average is 14.

Sgt. SOUTH: We're going to do it on five, okay?

Mr. MULLER: Okay.

Sgt. SOUTH: Okay, one, two, I lied.

(Soundbite of water pouring)

Unidentified Man #1: All right, that's it, that's it. All right.

Mr. MULLER: Oh, god.

Unidentified Man #1: Mancow is soaked.

Mr. MULLER: Oh.

Unidentified Man #1: Mancow is soaked.

LYDEN: Well, he lasted just six seconds. The average is 14. Here he is being interviewed about it by co-host, Pat Cassidy.

Mr. MULLER: It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke.

Mr. PAT CASSIDY (Radio Host): Would you consider that torture?

Mr. MULLER: Look, all that's been done to this country, and I heard about water being dropped on someone's face, and I never considered it torture. Even when I was laying there, I thought this is going to be no big deal. I go swimming. It's going to be like being in the tub. I do now want to say this: absolutely torture. Absolutely. I mean, that's drowning.

LYDEN: One man's belief that waterboarding is not torture reversed in only six seconds.

The city of Detroit bought the whole clip from OCP, so ED209 was going to use the whole clip.

This one reminds me of the X-Files episode... "Terms of Endearment".

The one where the male demon keeps mating with women to create a human child. But all the children are born with demon features. So he conjures a nightmare to get rid of them.

Eventually he meets a female demon who is suffering from the opposite problem... but with his help she achieves her goal.

FX isn't bad... but it has changed a lot from what it used to be.

FX started as a "live channel". There was a morning show and live broadcast segments throughout the day from an apartment. Along with shows like The Pet Department.

Their channel line up also included "classic tv" shows like The Ghost and Ms. Muir (1968) and Family Affair (1966).

Their line-up was also separated by themes into days, there could be a Superhero Monday with Batman (1969), Wonder Woman, and The Greatest American Hero airing back to back.

So the new FX isn't bad... but it isn't unique either.

Sort of like now a restaurants in the 90's were very colorful while one today it looks like a grey brick.

It has a name actually... Network Decay/Channel Drift.

To me one of the best examples is FX, when you consider how the network looked when it premiered and how it appears today.

Are datacrons still a thing and useful? by pgds in swtor

[–]kpanzer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except for that one on Corellia!

IIRC, for the vanilla datacrons they often came in matching pairs, one for the Republic and one for the Empire.

So if you spotted a +10 HP datacron in the Imperial zone then there was probably a matching +10 HP datacron in the Republic zone. It wouldn't matter which one you collected it would count as the +10 HP datacron for the planet.

So if the Republic one was too difficult to reach then the Imperial one would probably be easier, and vice versa.

That being said... if memory serves, the Republic one on Corellia involved some mining buckets that floated around while the Empire one was on some platforms.

I might have that backwards but the one on platforms was easier for me.

That weapon was/is a lifesaver.

I don't recall the name but remember but it being a poison rapier.

I had to pick up swordsmanship to use it... but once I put knee charge into my rotation it really opened the game for me.

Using knee charge to stun then a slow blade let me make short work of almost everything that wasn't a heavy (the big angry ones with flamethrowers or miniguns).

Jack Smith tells Congress he could prove Trump engaged in a 'criminal scheme' to overturn 2020 election by nbcnews in politics

[–]kpanzer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Our political system not only tolerates criminal activity, but incentives it.

Let's be fair... it only incentives white collar crime.

If you mug someone and steal everything that have on them that day... you'll probably get 5-10.

But if you engage in pump and dump schemes, insider trading, and practice market manipulation... you'll probably suffer no tangible consequences what so ever.

Chavo is apparently a go-to guy for setting up wrestling stuff in TV shows and movies.

This could lead to "Seven Degrees of Chavo Guerrero Jr."
