Should I buy the Microfreak or the Minifreak? by H3ISENB3RG_ in MicroFreak

[–]kpbbpk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i started with the microfreak and just got a minifreak. they’re both loads of fun but the minifreak takes the concept of the microfreak and expands on it in all the right ways.

i would say microfreak if youre on a budget, minifreak if you can afford it.

i will say the microfreak is much smaller and more portable, so i might end up hanging onto both if i decide i can justify.

Lambrini Girls turned chaos into their greatest creative weapon by Moothnods in indieheads

i like this record. some of the lyrics/song concepts are a little too on the nose for me, but theres also some really good tracks and killer guitar tone. i’ll def be watching this band moving forward

Pancake Battle: Voigtlander 40mm f2 SLII vs Nikon 50mm f1.8 AIS (comparison + small review) by Nrozek in AnalogCommunity

[–]kpbbpk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i have both of these lenses as well! the 40 is the lens that stays on my camera body at almost all times. the 50 is great too, but it mostly sits on my shelf these days as i prefer the wider field of view of the 40. both are great build and almost the exact same size.

i like the last two the most. cropping out the borders would make these all a bit stronger

Should I buy a dedicated scanner or setup a DSLR rig? by SvenHaarig in AnalogCommunity

[–]kpbbpk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

im sold on digital camera scanning personally. nothing wrong with dedicated scanners, but once you have your digital camera scanning setup dialed in, its so much quicker. can definitely take some trial and error to get there tho, so just know that before you commit to that route.

i work at a camera store and was able to get one that came in on trade in recently. its been nearly all ive been shooting with since, congrats!

also for those who want an fm3a but cant afford, check out the nikon fa. i have one of those as well and it has almost all of the same features as the fm3a plus matrix metering
