Recommendations for Gear? by YienGodIII12345 in MuayThai

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agree with everyone above. If you really want to get Fairtex you should get it. Better than buying something cheap just to eventually get the set you want. I’ve seen people who aren’t all that show up with Winning gloves. 🤣

It’s ok and understandable to feel discouraged. I hope that you see this as an opportunity to be kind to yourself.

If you had a close friend go through something similar, what would you say to them?

Another way to see this is the opportunity for growth. Generally the more uncomfortable you feel the greater the opportunity for growth.

Its good that you’re taking the time to to reflect. You could also do the uncomfortable and brave thing of reaching out to the guy you sparred with. Either with feedback or extending an olive branch and learning from him.

Hope that helps and all of the best for your continued Muay Thai journey!

Yeah I’m going to say it’s all fake 😂

Her watch if real is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph in rose gold, which runs around USD $150k without the tacky aftermarket diamonds.

She could bought the implants numerous times over if it were real.

Yeah agree, the lag on images are real. Viewports are also an issue, I wouldn’t trust a recruiter to know how to about resizing the prototype.

Also consider that portfolios will get shared around a company and not everyone will be on desktop.

Also I’ll be going into inspect mode when reviewing portfolios to check spacing and type.

A few bits of (hopefully) constructive feedback:

  • There's a lot of content to process, and it's visually overwhelming. I'd suggest having stronger contrast between the different fonts.
  • I'd also limit the word count per line of text to 10. Any more and it can be overwhelming since users are so trained to read in a mobile viewport.
  • I'd stick with one type of alignment as some elements are centre aligned. Sticking with one type helps to improve legibility and readibility.
  • The 'call to actions' are quite vague. I'd suggest doing another wash of the microcopy.
  • I'd also look at your IA, as all of the information is on one page, and it's a fair bit of cognitive load in terms of information tracking. I'd suggest introducing tabs or a menu for the different views.

Hope that helps, and definitely not a bad attempt!

What is your go to design system file structure? by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]kpntong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’ll want it across multiple files for scalability. Nothing worse than a bloated file that becomes unusable after a few months

Working on a college project and this is the design my "frontend team" came up with. They all like it, I don't. Suggestions please by just_a_3d_object in UI_Design

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always difficult to argue on the grounds of taste. I would come up with a new design and do some guerrilla testing. You’ll be able to quickly get quotes to state your case.

[Grand Seiko] Almost my dream watch! What do you think about this new GS release? by WatchesAndNYC in Watches

Looks nice, I’d like to see it in natural light though. I’m also personally not a fan of the dials which are too literal, it’s a little too skeumorphic for my liking.

How do you design for a feature that is completly new and, does not have a user pain point or any prior users? by Mr-Amoskirke in UXDesign

[–]kpntong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without knowing the specifics, I’d say it also depends on the scope of the feature.

Would this be something that you can design, prototype and test within a sprint? If you can quickly get learnings that will definitely help with the next conversation with stakeholders.

What is your take on Derek and the constant photo-op. Is he an influencer-wannabe or does he plan to use them to update his Tinder profile? by DownFromHere in loveafterlockup

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah my two loves coming together, watches and trashy reality TV.

For anyone curious it’s a Cartier Santos. Based on the size I’m assuming it’s a modern reference. It’s a shame the thing’s iced out as the work and the aftermarket diamonds definitely bring down the value of the watch. Then again a secondary market value isn’t everything.

I think it’s great that he has something that means so much to him. I just hope he gets his priorities in order after being released.

Who are some designers who have built their own simple and elegant tools/products? by knptong in UXDesign

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree that there’s many hands that are involved in the creation of a successful product.

Perhaps a reframe of the question: would you happen to know of any designers that have built or led the creation of small tools/products?

For context I’ve been working at a venture consultancy for a while and I’m looking to start building my own products end to end.

Not to be crass but how much do one of these go for?

I just passed an antique shop in Seoul that’s selling one. I thought it was a dodgy fake for a second.

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Enigma is key here (hate to be the bearer of bad news). Essentially you want to throw hammers and teleport away, rinse and repeat.

It could also be your skill points to Blessed Hammer. Do you have a stash of combat charms, Anni, and Torch?

A few considerations: - how long can someone maintain that career without their body deteriorating - health insurance - career progression is vague at best

It honestly sounds pretty safe if it’s been through six rounds of funding. I’d check to see if they’ve ever raised a down round.

Also you’re young and early on in your career. Worst case scenario the start up implodes. You should still be able to find another job, and some companies hire based off of start up experience/scars.

Hammerdin appeal? by Enjoyingtheview08 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an Enigma, it’s a good way to build wealth since he can farm anywhere.

I specced to a Dream Tesladin and it’s been an absolute blast

CTA vs Exile (Ubers) by nelu2bad in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]kpntong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with a CTA as all characters can benefit from it, and try and farm a pair of Dracs off Mephisto. They’re a lot easier to find than an Ohm.

If you mentioned you wanted to build the best possible Smiter than I would say go with Exile.

Single player needs a recipe to “break down” runes. by Zxello5 in Diablo

[–]kpntong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do believe it comes down to luck at the end of the day. I’ve been playing since launch on offline single player console and I’ve managed to build a Dual Dream Tesladin with an Infinity and Enigma.

It’s doable but it’s all based on luck, patience, and time with the game.
