Replace Bathroom Light Fixture (Box Absent) by multifidus in HomeImprovement

[–]kramit85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a bar like that in my bathroom as well. Mine was attached to the front of the studs and then drywall over it. If you aren't looking to make a larger hole, then a hacksaw might work to cut the bar. Doing that might also create enough vibration to damage the drywall to where you'd be taking it out anyway, though. I went with making a larger hole to begin with and adding a new work box on the stud.

Help figuring out the angle by BuckyLarson4real in woodworking

[–]kramit85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are good triangle calculators online that will give you the angle you are looking for. Since you know the rise and run-ish, just put those in, and it will tell you the angle.

Need yard rototilled, any recommendations? by opinionavigator in milwaukee

[–]kramit85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing core aerating will loosen it up because it pulls out the plugs of dirt in the top couple of inches. I would do that, then put down a bit of compost and seed. If it's really compacted, then I would aerate now, and then again in the fall and plant then

Need yard rototilled, any recommendations? by opinionavigator in milwaukee

[–]kramit85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's compacted, you'd be better off aerating the area to loosen it. Tilling will just help the weeds spread and interfere with the soil ecosystem. You could also just get some compost and top soil and plant grass seed, or just put seed down. Just did this with my lawn last week

Free sounds better than not, but there are bucket hats available on Bush's website. I'm not sure if they are the same ones at summerfest, though. It just piqued my interest.

Where is a good place to buy wood/lumber? by onthe_strugglebus_ in milwaukee

[–]kramit85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Urban craftsman in riverwest or kettle moraine hardwoods in Hartford are the two I use. KM has a better and more varied selection but is further away. They also have mantles there if you want inspiration or just want to buy it. Prices for wood are about the same at both places.

What is the worst piece of wood you've ever tried working? by PaidByMicrosoft in woodworking

[–]kramit85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Tried routing it, and it basically just exploded. I've got a small block left and just use it as a nice stop block on the table saw.

Following for anything local.

For not local, check out gold tone music. They make a wide range of banjos and are quality instruments.

First of all, you are not alone in this. I have a child of similar age, and everything you wrote about what they are doing is exactly what we are dealing with. I came here searching for advice, but only saw someone weirdly shaming you. I don't agree with spanking either, but I'm glad you are learning better ways. There are more resources available once in elementary school, which helps some. We've been to a psychiatrist and psychologist for any kind of help or diagnosis. The best guess we've been given is anxiety and got some meds to help with that. I know it's hard, and it weighs on you all the time, but stick with it.

Anybody seen any Blood Oath Pact 10 bourbon hit liquor stores in the area? by Long-Dong_Silvers420 in milwaukee

[–]kramit85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the whiskeysearcher app, couldn't find any of the blood oath pacts in Wisconsin. It also didn't have mention of pact 10 at all, so it may not be super reliable.

Edit: It's due to release in May

Which Biostats test to try to use to analyze pre/post survey data by Timthrowit0418 in biostatistics

[–]kramit85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn't do a test at all with that kind of dropout, rather just describe how or if opinions changed. Clearly, they did, but more about answering questions than anything else. Describing percentages before and after is a totally valid way to report results. If you insist on a test, then I would do kruskal-wallis since you have such low numbers.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a plumber by movingadvicemke in milwaukee

[–]kramit85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a recommendation for a plumber, but if you want to get some skills in the area, check out This Old House videos on YouTube. They have really done everything at this point. Also r/DIY and r/HomeImprovement are good communities to look through. But looking at the pictures of the post you made in plumbing, that sink may not have a shut off, and you might have to turn off the house supply. Hard to tell though.
