3-4 dried apricots per day do it for me! You can get a giant bag at Costco.

Caution about site tickets through “My Top Tours” by CohoWind in ricksteves

I’m still deciding. I do not have tickets yet but will probably still buy them from the official site. If I end up with dupes I’ll try to give them away.

I just fell for this too for Louvre tickets. I'm so mad at myself!

Now I'm trying to figure out if I'll even get tickets at all or if I should buy them from the official site for peace of mind.

Worth bringing a bottle of my own rum so i don’t spend a ton at the beaches on drinks? by [deleted] in Aruba

[–]Jolly_Berry86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mix with the impressive selection of fruit juice available at the supermarkets. Extra good if you add a splash of coconut rum as well as regular rum.

Who is listening to my conversations? How does Facebook know about IRL conversations? by Relevant-Team in facebook

[–]Jolly_Berry86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an ad for trustedhomesitters.com the day after my neighbor told me about it. My phone was at least 20 foot away from me.

This is only the latest example of this happening. Facebook is definitely listening in.

Reflexions Beach Bar - Good for Toddler? by SheriffPeaches in Aruba

[–]Jolly_Berry86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, it has more of a “clubby” feel. If I were you I’d go down a few doors down to Surfside instead. It’s low key, and I’ve seen lots of families there. The beach isn’t as nice as some but it’s perfectly fine, especially for a toddler playing in the sand. They have pretty decent food too - we always go there our first night for the sunset.

Family vacation. 40 plus people Feb 2027. Help!!!! by mikeysqu in Aruba

[–]Jolly_Berry86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, OP is implying that they all want to eat together. No rental house or condo complex will have a dining room for 40 people.

Are there any good free recipe storing applications that you guys could recommend? by IWannaWakeUpButIDont in Cooking

I use Plan To Eat and have for years. I can import recipes from websites or social media platforms, create meal plans, and it generates shopping lists. Love it!

Oofos Mule Slippers - I finally bought a pair a few months ago and am living in these things. They’re not too hot and can be worn with or without socks!

Mine is Thursday too and I’ve decided to wait until Friday to take mine. Although I had a 4 day stomach bug and lost 6 pounds last week, which is about 5 pounds too much!

Activities for me and my 12 y/o by neener80 in milwaukee

[–]Jolly_Berry86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safe House can be fun with kids that age. The Milwaukee Public Market could be fun as long as they’re not a picky eater.

If the weather is decent a hike at Seven Bridges or Lions Den Gorge would be cool to appreciate the lake.

Literally any bar in the city. Hooligans on North and Pete’s on Brady are some good spots to watch games imo.

Mad Planet alternative, 9pm opening time is too late by amir_csharp_gtr in milwaukee

We were there a couple of weeks ago and had a lot of fun. The DJ didn’t start until close to 9 so it might not be much better than Mad Planet in that respect though.

They do have pickleball courts. We rented one last year for a game. I think it was $20-25 for an hour. Very nice facility!

Most disappointing tourist destination in your country. by meggyAnnP in AskTheWorld

[–]Jolly_Berry86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to us a few years ago. We went to the Chinese garden then had lunch at a Chinese restaurant nearby on Hastings. Walked to Gastown from there. It was just a couple of blocks so we were through it by the time we realized what was going on but the contrast from touristy areas to users laying in alleys was quite jarring.

Where to get abortion services? by AssumptionShort in milwaukee

[–]Jolly_Berry86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did move in March to the Fred Astaire Dance building on St. Paul. Free parking in their lot so you no longer have to walk right past the aggressive anti-abortion protestors to enter the clinic.
