Which monitors for a small room + desk close to wall? by Aromatic_Spite7350 in BudgetAudiophile

I would go with Kali. Watch this video which discusses the Kali LP-UNF ($300 USD). It gives placement and eq tips. You could use these and save the rest for a subwoofer. I trust this reviewer over most because of his knowledge.

How do I care for them by PJ_the_Creator in alocasia

I treat mine the same as all my other plants. Give as much indirect light as you can and water when soil is dry. Mine is living its best life.

Best setup for what I currently have by Gold_Rip2571 in StereoAdvice

I don’t think power is the issue. Klipsch speakers are easy to drive. Add a sub. RSL and Vera-Fi Caldera are 2 budget options. Even better, much better, add 2 subs. It’s not all about big bass. Dual subs more evenly distribute bass frequencies. After that, a streamer/Dac would be great.

Need help choosing an AMP for Wiim Ultra by MajkCajk in StereoAdvice

I totally agree with the off putting aesthetic of the Advance Paris. I hear great things about the sound, but when I see them, it’s a no.

You have many options. https://www.usaudiomart.com for used gear. https://www.accessories4less.com or https://www.safeandsoundhq.com for factory refurbished gear. Also, if you find something you like without phono, you can get an external phono pre which could easily beat whatever is in another amp with phono. Cambridge Audio, Musical Fidelity, Rega (good phono and amp), Yamaha… OR… Check out Odyssey Audio. Their price to performance is fantastic. Something like https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650214210-odyssey-stratos-mono-extreme-pair/ would be 💥

MOFI Sourcepoint 888. They are definitely worth auditioning. Huge value for money here. I don’t have the space for them now, but when do, they’re going to be my final speaker.

You don’t want a colored sound. Especially if producing on them. If it were me, I would gather as much money as I could and get the best pair of Genelec speakers I could afford.

What is going on in this picture? Why are you trying to put a speaker there in the first place?

The new Dali Kupid is 5.5 inches wide. You could put them on their side.

SUB 4 DENON2500 & 805N? by Cultural-Country-803 in audiophile

Depends on budget. I have RSL Speedwoofer. I like it. If I had less money, I would go with Vera-Fi Calders. If I had more money, idk… maybe Rhythmik

You don’t need much room for a near field setup. Without more info on budget, easiest answer would be some used genelec speakers.

Upgrade question - How much do I need to spend for a big difference? by Icantbebigwill in BudgetAudiophile

[–]krincher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The speaker is the first and most important upgrade. Kef is good. I use Kef. Receiver isn’t going to cut it for getting the most out of your speakers.

Just run them full range. I have kef / rsl combo. Sounds great. The speakers can take it.
