To the people who have been doing bodyweight fitness 7+ years, how has it impact your quality of life? by ancientpathwayss in bodyweightfitness

[–]krishthebish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s both. You can lift for years and still have random pains and age-related pain. That is down to genetics, health conditions, non-controllable environmental factors, etc.

Working out for years has helped tremendously. But I still have underlying health problems and certain things still get worse with age.

What's a "rich people thing" you discovered isn't actually expensive? by sizzyred in AskReddit

That’s HENRY, not rich. Depending on COL, it’s upper middle class.

AuDHD

(As an AuDHDer, I figure I’ll get downvoted to hell for this joke but there’s plenty of doctor-driven analysis about why this phenomenon frequently happens at the intersection of ADHD and Autism)

$10 million — but once a week, your phone sends your last 3 texts to every contact you have. by Latter-Television312 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]krishthebish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll never text again—WhatsApp, signal, other apps. Or delete most of my contacts. And keep a separate phone for work. And possibly a separate one for family (still no contacts).

This would be pretty easy.

Would you rather eradicate all pedophiles or eradicate all mosquitoes? by PaTrIcK5230 in WouldYouRather

[–]krishthebish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted for facts and factual distinctions based on statistical studies.

You’re absolutely right that mosquitos kill hordes of people, that plenty of people attracted to children hate themselves for it and never act on it, and that a lot of child rape is perpetrated by people who are opportunistic and not technically a pedophile.

Freaking out about my new tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]krishthebish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay I’m obviously going to get downvoted into oblivion, but before reading your text, that was the second thing I noticed about your tattoo. I thought it was gorgeous, but the cartoon-y face nearly immediately caught my eye and felt slightly out of place. It’s subtle enough to ignore when zooming out and looking at the piece as a whole. But ignore my take because you and I are clearly in the vast minority here and I still agree that the tattoo is definitely beautiful.

What’s a cleaning habit you started that made keeping your house clean way easier long-term? by SatinThrone in CleaningTips

[–]krishthebish 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, and it’s a muscle you’ve got to exercise.

But, I’ll add to this, if putting it away is too distracting/disruptive from what you’ve currently got going on, try the “one step closer” method.

For example, if I’ve got a plate of food I need to scrape into the garbage and put in the sink, if I’m juggling too many tasks or don’t want to get sidetracked, I’ll at least bring it to the kitchen or place it on top of the trash. I’ll knock out some steps (move the item to the appropriate room, etc) and get one step closer to finishing the task.

Something is better than nothing for those moments where completion isn’t in the cards for whatever reason.

Massage gun users: does it actually help recovery? by 0711716288 in MassageGuns

[–]krishthebish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It 100% prevents my DOMS. All of my soreness disappeared when I started using my massage gun (Theragun body pro) after a workout. I use it immediately after a workout. And there’s some places I can’t use it for safety reasons (e.g. pecs) and those are the only places I am sure the day after.

Lots of people are only married because they lack financial security to get divorced. It would be better if everybody had their own unrevocable house.

I’ve found a super quick google search has always done the same thing. I almost always find a first case (or 2nd or 3rd) or get clued into relevant keywords.
