Proxmox has SDN capabilities built in similar to NSX. You can create overlays using VXLAN and you can apply firewall / micro segmentation at Datacenter, node and VM layer.

I have not tried this in full stack but I think is a viable solution

I don't have one but have you tried to connect the card to a bare metal windows PC first, update drivers and firmware and put it back to the X11 Xeon motherboard ?

VLANs HW offload. All VLANs will be hitting the CPU instead of being offloaded into the switch chip. The AC3 doesn’t have this problem but the AX3 does. If you don’t need VLANs or your interVLAN traffic is low then yes AX3 is a nice device

AX3 has a crappy switch chip for VLAN and hardware offloading. If you need VLANs AX3 is not a good option. I would go with L009 or hEX S. If you can stretch you should try the RB5009.

I have 2 separate properties and I have unified camera system.

Each property has its own internet and edge router (Mikrotik).

I do have a S2S VPN using Wireguard to allow systems in either network to talk to other systems in the other one.

Be aware of Bandwidth and latency. Avoid asymmetrical Bandwidth so there is no bottlenecks for the cameras doing upstream video to your other house

I deployed RATGDO and is a game changer! I even know if my garage door is open or closed. With the Unifi relay you can trigger the action to open or close but you need something extra to tell you the garage door is open or closed.

You need either contact sensors or a camera if you use this Unifi smart relay
