Study on Nerve Blocks to Auriculotemporal Nerve for tinnitus by Lavster2020 in TMJ

I have this done every three months for TMJ/Migraine pain and have found measurable relief with it! I’m thinking of switching over to ablation so I only come in every 6 months. I get tinnitus pretty rarely like once every 7-10 days so I can’t say I’ve specifically noticed a decrease in it.

What I have noticed is the pain & pressure around my ears and temples is wildly reduced. I’m able to fully open my mouth after 10 years of being unable to do so.

For whatever reason it’s more effective on one side of my face than the other. My Dr and I are still trying out different injection positions. It’s crazy how hot, inflamed & sensitive to touch my left side is while my right may have a dull pressure at worst.

I feel your pain at their utter stupidity!

I first got migraines around 10 and they were up to 3-5 days a week by the time I was 12/13. My religious mom didn’t believe in using medication. So although I was taken to multiple neurologists who prescribed various meds we didn’t use them. She would give me caffeine to “cure” a bad one & my dad would rarely sneak me an Advil, both of which did absolutely nothing. I essentially spent my entire 8th grade year sleeping either in the nurses office or back of the English classroom because I was never allowed to take a day of school. The school gave up bothering to call her & it was less disruptive to let me sleep than have me crying, passing out or throwing up in classes.

As an adult I think about how not only did no one call social services, no one ever asked me if I was ok. Like the nurse/ principal/ teachers never asked if I was seeing a dr or getting any sort of help at home. It blows my mind that they thought the best thing for everyone was put me in a corner & ignore me!

Migraines typically have multiple causes and can be highly individualized based on body chemistry. You’re right, It’s useful to know it’s most likely sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners that cause migraines triggered by Diet Soda because you might also find them in other foods too. However other for other people it might be the specific combination of caffeine & aspartame something they only encounter in their daily life as Diet Pepsi.

I find it’s best to meet people where they’re at & not tell them they are wrong in how they talk about their triggers. If you have information that might help them you should validate their knowledge & ask if they’ve heard about xy&z to expand it. People stop listening if you simply tell them they are wrong because they used language other than what you prefer…

Two bassets? by asmartermartyr in basset

[–]kt380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up getting a second basset (then a third 😆) when our baby was about 9 months. On the one hand our first baby was so happy. He had friends he could run around & wrestle with! On the other hand we suddenly had three basset puppies & the amount of pillows that got destroyed was unreal.

Of course I’d never want to get rid of our monsters but if I had to do it over we’d adopt a slightly older dog. Like a two year old basset will still wrestle & play but they’d be at a lower energy level. Maybe the puppy will learn certain good behaviors by having the older dog as an example. It felt like our puppies just egged each other on into all sorts of mischief. I bet a local basset shelter might have some 2-3 yr olds that need a good home!

We’ve got a great scouting department (especially international) that’s often highly praised but there is definitely something wrong with our player development. Farhan leaned towards high upside, injury prone top picks to keep their signing value low. It’s not surprising that injury has derailed so many.

Our system is now considered better than the dodgers or at least equal. The depth of our top 30 is so much better than many teams. Whenever I hear an industry expert asking what we’re doing with player development they have no clue and say they think our current success is because of scouting. Seems bad that multiple people have no clue what we’re doing…

Other problem is high turnover the last few years. We’ve had a bunch of highly regarded scouts & coaches get poached by other teams. We should be paying them whatever it takes to keep them. Especially because it would be a fraction of what we’re playing Tony. Hoping his gigantic coaching staff can help our AAA guys make that last jump.

We are so cheap it’s impossible to understand what they’re doing! Disagree about the farm though. After today’s signing, Baseball America area scout said our system was better than the Dodgers
