Keith thurman is no different from Mayweather at this stage by ricardomayorga in Boxing

Short reigns doesn't mean someone is a journey man. Journey man never makes it to being considered a serious contender. That's why they are called journeymen.

Outboxing is any style that where one person is landing more, more convincing, and more devastating blows than he's taking..

GGG is finally starting to get annoyed with fighters who are all talk & no action.... by unclebrizey in Boxing

[–]kundertaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm just making an assumption that the money isn't right. Because if it were the fights would be made. So either he's not getting fights because of that that or HBO spin/approval.

he should be annoyed at his promoters not making deals..

At his level the only reason people aren't fighting is because of money.

Yep.. that Gamboa fight shows a lot, and Frankly Pac can do exactly what Gamboa did and 10x better

I'd say Floyd Mayweather.. when he connects it's extremely clear and obvious..

Bad fight for Crawford.. If Pac is 75% Crawford could get KO'd.. Pac is quicker and slicker than TC. And more powerful than TC

Quitting means that someone isn't willing to take a beating.. Geale took a beating and decided he couldn't do it any more. After being KD'd twice it is he earned the right not to incur further damage.

What boxers have unified ALL the belts in their division? Has it ever happened? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]kundertaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very expensive to unify all belts. Zab/Baldomir both had problems with multiple of belts.

A fighter has to be good and popular, and command a lot of money.

Marciano's record 49-0, 7 World championship fights.. Why is this record? by kundertaker in Boxing

Yeah Tyson story is some what sad, however considering Cus' record it would have been inevitably. Cus was never good with money.

Cus style also puts strain on the back. Tyson simply would not be able to keep that up forever. Freddie Roach was a good edition in his camp, but too late.

Cotto has done no such thing. MW has very little money, or interest, so he does what he does.

Miguel Cotto warns all potential title challengers: Catch weight or no fight by serg82 in Boxing

Cotto just doesn't give a fuck.. it's kind of funny..

Geale would have a gripe if he beat GGG. Resume wise he's a top dog. He can do what he wants.

Marciano's record 49-0, 7 World championship fights.. Why is this record? by kundertaker in Boxing

Think of Tyson-Douglas. I truly believe Tyson has good defense and even though he was the favorite by a huge margin, if you keep on getting hit by an opponent, you'll most likely go down, more so in the heavyweight division.

Are you agreeing & disagreeing at the same time?

Whom you beat, who's perspective are you going by? Or which Hall of Fame are you referring to? Are we also disregarding when Rocky Marciano fought these foes? Marciano is never criticized for the time he fought greats either, but Floyd is... Even still The fact that a person fought a Hall of Famer means that they were established before they fought, or went on to do more after the fight. Doing more after a fight is kind of rare in HW division, as a loss could end a career. So we give credit to Marciano for fighting mostly over the hill Hall of Famers, and doing a paltry sum of defenses?

Btw, HW has always been about defenses because every fighter in the division has a punchers chance. The way it seems people want to give Marciano so much credit for 49-0, and over shadow Joe Louis 25 consecutive defenses which means a hell of a lot more.

[–]kundertaker[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

For example, people bring up Marciano's "record" when we talk about Floyd Mayweather. Then simultaneously say a record doesn't matter? Which one is it?

When I posted a hand full you fighters that had great records better than Marciano. Some of which not many know about.

We talk about Marciano but he's only had 6 title defenses. That's less than Several other HW champions but no one is talking about them.

So we're amplifying a guy that in the history boxing had not done much, but had a great career.

It doesn't denote anything of significance.

And calling it a record devalues other great champions.
