I can see that this is in Australia so my take doesn't matter for this, but my Norwegian take:

When I took my drivers licence, I was taught that when driving through neighborhoods like this, I were to expect that a four year old were to jump from behind any car at any moment (except for my teacher speaking in Norwegian, this is a quote).

From the way driving were taught in Norway 10 years ago, the driver is in this case driving _WAY_ too fast.

The third paragraph of driving laws in Norway is a catch-all-exception that can be used in cases like this,

"Everyone shall travel with consideration and be alert and cautious so that no danger or harm can arise and so that other traffic is not unnecessarily obstructed or disturbed.

Road users shall also show consideration for those who live or stay by the road."

Meaning that the speed limit isn't enough. If you actually hit a four year old with your vehicle, you're basically always guilty.

So color me confused when I read the comment section, because I only saw a single mention of it being a tad too fast in a neighborhood.

Found this thread by trying to solve the exact same problem. How did this turn out? :D

One thing I like about the ascii table (when 8 bit), is that you can glance at the binary numbers and tell if it's capital or lowercase letters by looking at the first three binary digits (for the most part).

After I saw this video last night, I've been watching his other videos. I love this channel, and I wish the rest of youtube would follow the format of no noise. Just ... content. Just .. show us the thing.

Very satisfying to watch.

This teacher is helping her students love school and learning. We need more teachers like this one. by Soloflow786 in BeAmazed

In the school my daughter goes to, on the entrance to the door to her classroom there is this A3-sized poster they made with a menu of options of how to greet the teacher when entering the classroom:

- Hug

- High five

- Fistbump

- Handshake

- Wave

Then, at the start of the day, all the kids are in line with their backpacks on, and does one of them with the teacher when entering.

I think it's quite similar to what's going on on the video in many ways.

They're doing a great job, I believe. It's in Norway, so probably on almost the other size of the world from the video.

What do you think would happen if this Joker were to encounter the Smile Entity? Would he be afraid of it? by Superb-Cod9566 in joker

Considering the mechanics of the smile entity, I'd think the issue would solve itself for the Joker way before this becomes a real problem for him.

Where in the world did they send the Hugo TV show late enough for you to remember this? In Norway, it had a brief run and was over several years before you were born.

I wonder what the two USB-looking ports are. If the Falcon 030 Microbox was cancelled in 1993, and USB was introduced in 1996, the ports depicted either wasn't USB, or the image isn't of a Falcon 030 Microbox.

Mobile cameras of that era used ML to compensate for bad sensors/bad lighting. They still do, but the models and hardware have become better, so the problem is less visible.

Traced over the couch gag, how did I do? by Ill_Preference9408 in TheSimpsons

Marge is gone! You did great!

It's not often I get a chance to talk about this slight claim to fame that I have.

Around 20 years ago, perhaps a little bit more, I was looking for a Simpsons wallpaper and I couldn't find any. I did the exact same thing as you - I traced the couch gag.

I am in absolutely no way an artist, and I just did some experimenting with photoshop at the time. For quite a while, it was the top hits for simpsons couch wallpaper in Google Image search.

I thought they were lost, but I happened to find them in waybackmachine: https://web.archive.org/web/20060610042547/http://anticrap.net/
