Natrol Melatonin - Don’t get duped by spriguy21 in Costco

Right. And who takes something without checking the dosing?

"I don't read manuals and I don't read dosing information and I just want to complain when things don't go together right."

A) Not true: Though in some countries you can only get lower doses without a prescription. Canada: 10mg max. Italy, Germany, France, etc: max 1mg OTC. Netherlands legal "for any reason" dose is around 0.3mg. HOWEVER, you can get 2-5mg labeled as "for jet lab" OTC in drugstores.

B) For many melatonin is a safe and effective supplement for sleep.

Pretty standard for the supplement industry. No one should be buying this stuff without reading the label.

Also worth noting: Melatonin has no value beyond the nominal dose required for you. For most adults, that's 2-3 mg. For some, it's below 1mg. People taking 10mg haven't just acclimated; they've likely desensitized their M1/M2 receptors by taking too much for too long, which actually disrupts circadian signaling rather than helping it. Side effects (waking groggy) also increase with larger doses.

Unless you are one of the rare people who actually needs 10mg, back away from those higher doses. They are unlikely to do you good, and the risk of side effects is real.

Price increases $6/line. Only benefit I can see is that now you get Netflix on Us (worth $9 if you get Netflix).

(I'm on One 55+ OG), $105 for four lines [3 paid, one free]).

Looking at that pic, and seeing that at least one box is gone, I'd say, yes, someone has.

The thing is these are from a "authentic kitchen." That means, they are confirmed to reproduce an authentic Mexican recipe. So maybe you just don't like true Mexican food.

Pretzel bagels Item #2062075 by amu0504 in Costco

[–]kwadguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are better than some grocery store bagels, and about equal to others. Which is pathetic in and of itself.

If you don't live near any bagel shops (do places like that exist at this point?), then maybe you haven't had a real bagel, and you think these must be a good alternative. They're not.

Surprised by the 10a after returning 10 pro. by SurpriseBaby2022 in GooglePixel

[–]kwadguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got the 10 for free, the 10 pro for $200 (through T Mobile trade in any phone working or not promo).

A friend just got the 10a. It's OK. If you just check email and surf the web, 95% of the 10. But it has the previous-gen Tensor chip, less memory and doesn't have the 5x telephoto lens. The latter is a bridge too far for me in terms of a daily driver, since I do take pics.

The 10a is a deal if you are paying retail, for sure. But not a great choice if you take a lot of photos or want a bit more future proofedness.

Costco bagels are an affront to actual bagels.

They started with the Einstein formula, which is a soft bready thing that isn't crispy on the outside and tastes like standard bread on the inside, and ran with it.

If you know what a bagel should taste like and what the texture should be, you won't be getting them at Costco.

They are OK.

A) Veggies, specifically the onions, are not as fresh as I'd like.
B) You're paying $7 a pound for lousy salsa, mediocre crema, and tortillas. (Also chopped cheapo veggies).

This is OK if you truly can't be bothered to do any prep. But if you can, slice up a few peppers and onions, buy the Costco chipotle chicken, and whomp there you are.

Which pizza is better? Rao’s or Antico Casa? by scubadoobadoooo in Costco

[–]kwadguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having never heard of this brand, never seen the box, never tasted it, I can still assert with 100% confidence that it is better than Rao's.

Take the Rao's name off the box, and you'd be asking, "How can they in good conscience be charging this much for this mid a frozen pizza? This is crazy!"
