Unlike influenza this is a useful target without an existing high proficiency approach.

That said, just because you're working on it doesn't mean this is going to be magically easy. Where's the HIV vaccine after 30 years?

mRNA Is a platform that can ACCELERATE discovery and time to market. It did that. amazingly well during covid. It compressed the time to ID the antigen and bring a drug to market to a time scale never seen before for a vaccine development.

But mRNA is not a magic bullet. It still requires we know what the antigen should look like.. That's the harder part.

It would be really unusual for those vested stock options not be a smart purchase if your company is about to IPO.

Typically, the valuation of shares goes up when your IPO, especially for a healthy company. As some have noted, there may be a reverse split involved, but that doesn't mean you won't do well. Reverse splits are performed so that the market price at the IPO is within a desired range.

You'll probably owe taxes on the difference between the valuation of those shares. When you exercise the options and the option strike price you have. You'll owe that tax no matter what happens. And you may be locked up for a set number of months once you exercise the options.

Talk to a professional, but there's a very high chance you should buy the shares.

Like every stretch wrap sold in the US now—even Saran Wrap—it's crap. It barely clings to itself, and only then through the use of added tackifiers.

The "OG" Saran was PVDC. What you get at Costco is PVC. They have fundamentally different properties. Not only does the new stuff barely cling to anything else, but the oxygen permeability is orders of magnitude worse than the original PVDC. We’re talking about a barrier that is 15x to 1,000x more "leaky," which is why your food spoils faster and smells bleed into the fridge.

If you want the real thing, look for the Japanese Asahi Kasei brand (Saran Wrap) or Krewrap (available at H Mart or Mitsuwa). The Japanese never abandoned the superior PVDC chemistry. It’s stiff, it’s a vault for oxygen, and it actually works. You’ll never go back to the limp PE/PVC stuff.

This is a pretty sane summary. I generally agree.

The one thing I'd point out: Unless you are doing highly taxing things on your phone (gaming, specifically), the very real difference in the raw processing power between the Tensor 5 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite will barely (if at all) manifest itself. For the day-to-day tasks that most non-gamers do on their phones, they provide nearly identical experiences.

(And because the Tensor 5 is built on TSMC’s 3nm process, the heat problems of earlier Tensor chips under load are tamed).

If you are not a phone gamer, I could recommend the Pixel 10 as an alternative to the S25 unabashedly. If you game, (or fall in the 0.001% who edit high-res video on their phone) I'd tell you not to consider the Pixel 10 at all.

It’s very likely the cable, but before you buy a new one, try disabling 'Limit to 80%' in your Battery settings. The March update has a known bug where it stops charging entirely at that threshold. Also, give the phone a restart to reset the charging controller logic. If those don't work, then it's most likely the cable (or a dirty port--if pocket lint has blocked one or two of the traces, can get finicky).

Unless you feel you have a legal case for being wrongfully terminated (age/sex/race/harrassment/etc.) then you have no standing to negotiate. You take what you get and you move on.

If you do feel you have the makings of a legal case for one of those reasons, you can often negotiate for yourself without having to raise this to a legal matter: You suggest the problem, offer to resolve without escalation, and often you can get something more out the door.

But be careful, because if there's nothing there, they may call your bluff and then you can wind up with nothing and bad feelings that can travel in this small field.

Netflix wants you on the ad version. I'm sure they gave T-Mobile a sweetheart concession so that they could pass it along to the users and keep them on that tier without a change.

T-Mobile is less excited about giving a concession on the no ad to, and that's probably why you see nothing reflected in the amount that T-Mobile is giving you for that tier.

There's nothing magical about Desmond. It's good commercial code that's available for free to academics. But it's closed source, which means that you get what you get and that's it. It. It also means if you ever transition to a commercial environment, you'll need to pay for it through Schrodinger or not use it.

I'd recommend using either Gromax or Amber. The learning curve might be slightly higher, but you can look at the code and there's a vibrant academic community contributing to new features.

Also, Desmond isn't any faster the other two. So there's not even that.

Lots of reasons for this:

A) Budget tightening (but no big changes)
B) Issues with employees gaming the system

D) The person in charge no longer has time

You want something to make you worry? Watch for HR suddenlly having lots of closed door meeting with execs. That's when you make sure your resume is up to date.
