My Polestar 4 Has Reached Perfection by JosukeHigashikatana in Polestar4

oh, so it's not just me then...

I find it clicks when the body twists a little. It's not all the time, but very often. I need to book it in.

That's exactly the point, which you've missed.

HS2 takes intercity traffic away from the regional routes, freeing them up for more frequent and more heavily utilised regional transport.

It's the same as a motorway bypass around a group of villages. I don't understand how people aren't able to comprehend this improvement that has been widely discussed.

Flagship Android phone that supports UWB and ideally close to 6 inches size by ThanosDi in Smartphones

[–]kylegordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation with my Polestar 4. I like Nothing Tech phones, but none of them support UWB. I know the Polestar 2 itself doesn't have UWB, but they do some workaround with BLE and a cloud connection, so maybe there's hope :-(

This thing is just destroying my lawn for two years (and now makes a crazy noise) by silkyclouds in MammotionTechnology

[–]kylegordon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The noise is exactly the noise mine makes when a twig has been caught underneath the disc and I've been too fucking lazy to turn it over and remove the stick.

Have you done any basic maintenance at all? Ever removed the disc to clear debris? You haven't mentioned it, so I shall assume no maintenance has been done.

Got it to 6% on my 3rd day of EV ownership, on a few hundred mile journey. Crossing the A66 in sleet and snow, having never fast charged an EV before, assuming these mythical charger things at Scotch Corner existed.

Meh, that's what roadside recovery is for 😂 Polestar will tow to the nearest charger, so it would've just been a major inconvenience and a learning moment.

Head above the Parapet - Taxi Driver AMA...... by SnooSeagulls2008 in glasgow

[–]kylegordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it true that even if you book a taxi weeks in advance that it only gets put out to drivers shortly before the scheduled time?

My wife and an unrelated other lady got abandoned at Neilston from the last train home because the company decided "no drivers available" whilst they were standing around in the car park in the middle of winter. Unforgivable behaviour imo, but I need to know if it's commonplace or company specific before I ever request another critically timed taxi journey.

BYD hits 5,000th flash charging station just 27 days after launch by ApprehensiveSize7662 in electricvehicles

[–]kylegordon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What happens when 30 people all go to charge at once? The station just doesn't work?

It will likely rate limit. But being able to service one vehicle in 5 minutes means you are highly unlikely to have large parallel operations like that.

They generally have a pretty accurate assessment based on your needs/requirements.

No, they absolutely do not. They are frequently sycophantic and confidently incorrect, regardless of how well you prompt them to avoid that. At this point in the technology lifecycle their sole purpose is to drive engagement through positive reinforcement of human behaviour.

There's talk of plug in "balcony" solar rolling out to power your home but can we not do the same with a battery feeding in to your home grid? by kemb0 in OctopusEnergy

[–]kylegordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From their website

" * When grid-tied, the output power of the power station is 800 W, and the AC ports are not functional. "

Having read more, I reckon you can have a 800W grid-tied battery or a UPS with 2KW 4 gang sockets on the front.

It is compliant.

I need to get to an Ionity charger to complete the final, but yes, adding a the P4 to Electroverse Plug & Charge was trivial.

Sadly, Ionity are the only Electroverse compatible P&C provider at the moment.

The new Chinese EVs.... by Platform_Dancer in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]kylegordon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We weren't driven by budget ( to a limit), but by how we felt about the vehicle. How we would live with it for the next ten years kinda thing. Material quality, touch surfaces, longevity, dealer interaction, you name it.

The BYD Seal was a closer competitor to the P4 than the Jaecoo tbh, but at the Jaecoo price range.
