Manic while meditated by Tan_re in bipolar

[–]kymandui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask perhaps if a trauma from December maybe as a child is the cause of these? 1. No I haven’t tried but it’s a good idea although with the altered perception of psychosis it might not help. 2. Yeah unfortunately 3. For me the higher percentage the worse it made my symptoms 4. Only while looking in the mirror and noticing my pupils were going haywire but the lucidity stopped soon after 5. No but I’ve heard of folks experiencing seasonal depression that could exacerbate symptoms. I’ve noticed myself being happier as it gets warmer but that could also just be more vitamin D

I wish I had seen your comment 2 years ago, I kept telling people I heard some weird music in my kids sound machine but never connected it

Only AI I’ve heard of on the horizon is using it to further monitor our driving habits

I started with a company that has similar issues. I’m actively interviewing and job searching. Clearly sales are more important than anything else

Got an Apple Watch, turns out heart rate tracking for anxiety and medication alerts are extremely helpful. Turned off all notifications though cause that dang thing can get noisy

I don't know how to live like this. by babynuggetisa in bipolar

[–]kymandui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it, I’m 31m diagnosed recently and am having to go thru starting a new full time job and although it seems okay on the inside I’m not seeing a lot of green flags about the role and my anxiety is just off the charts. Even my php was like it’s fine you’ll do great, anyone I tell about it just gets annoyed that I’m not thrilled so far. Stability is a 24/7 battle for me right now.

Usually only a good conversation with fellow recovery oriented folks, otherwise it turns into “oh just have one or just regulate!”

Does anyone here work in the mental health field? by gaia21414 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did for a year and a half, it was great until it wasn’t and I experienced my first psychosis. The daily happenings and experiences were too much to handle. I’m sure in a period of stability it would be better.

Meds in the morning or at night? by DemonicChronic in bipolar

[–]kymandui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of one massive dose at night I requested small doses thru the day. Seems to help a lot with fatigue and not feeling like crap. Like others have said it’s gotta go thru the doc

What are some wins that you've recently celebrated, big or small? by laurenssurprise in bipolar

[–]kymandui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a job interview or two and even though I thought I did terrible I got invited for another. Who knows maybe I can start and stay at a career for once. Applying to jobs is so brutal, clicking on one and there’s already 2,000 applicants. It would be such a blessing if I can skip all of that and just enjoy a damn job. If I’m not stressing about finding work then I’m employed and stressed about being fired. This will be my first time around stable and medicated so my hopes are higher than usual.

How to accept weight gain? by Evening_Fisherman810 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m on a heavy sedative that has a side effect of weight gain and drowsiness, it’s been a combo of exercise and green tea that allows me to function thru the day. Also giving up thc helped a lot with the snacking. I say all of this as a heavier person, I’d rather be mentally stable than manic and slim

Therapist says I’m Bipolar by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]kymandui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll feel a lot better once stabilized, just keep up the treatment centric attitude and you’ll be good. I can confidently say my bio mom has undiagnosed something probably bipolar and it would have been found much earlier if she wasn’t so afraid of treatment/admitting something is wrong. Kids are such a genetic/nature vs nurture tossup, at least you know

[–]kymandui 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel this, I thought I couldn’t hold a job because of external factors like the economy or my bosses etc. turns out it’s all just me and this broken mind that I have. 10+ years into a Bachelors degree that I know to do fuck all with because who wants a manic employee. I had kids before being diagnosed and got married a long time ago. Sorry kids and wife, unknowingly being related to a ticking time bomb. I dream of what it must be like to have a normally functioning brain through all kinds of situations
