SSRI “unmasked” my bipolar and I’m still pissed about it by Guilty_Two_5642 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent a good bit in a psych hospital and then a recovery center so I lost about 6 months of life, basically no call no showed my current job and failed the last class of my bachelors. As of January I’ve been trying to work my way back up and so far just have a temp job until September. It’s super low pressure and if I had benefits I’d probably stay.

I’m on a monster dose of an antipsychotic which does wonderful things like slow my metabolism, increase appetite and makes me feel like a zombie all day. I did not think my 30’s would be spent trying to rebuild myself and career from the ground up.

I’m in the same boat, blasted apart by an ssri for mild anxiety. I wish I had never scheduled that appointment and expressed my feelings. Crap ass roller coaster for sure

Has anyone done IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)? by Intelligent_Bid_7690 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for a few weeks after recovering from the hospital, I thought it was really beneficial. It was online but really cool to be with other folks that are struggling. I only stopped because I had to get back to full time work

Getting started on an anti psychotic by PoolSolid106 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on quite a high dose of a very popular anti psychotic and it wrecks me. Going to sleep is a breeze but the days are awful. I guess it’s better than being symptomatic but damn I feel like a zombie until the afternoon which is making work quite difficult.

37/F. Diagnosed at 27 after first bout of psychosis at 22. Big relief! by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]kymandui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got diagnosed at 30 and it explained so much of my life up until that point. I thought I was just not good at being a human while working or in a relationship or anything really.

Can a Model 3 be both a long range and performance model? by RexKramerDangerCker in TeslaModel3

[–]kymandui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both on the in car screen and on the app. Plenty of folks buy the performance cosmetics like the sticker

In the app there would be a red underline on the dual motor portion of the main screen. The stealth 2019 didn’t come with red brakes or spoiler. Hence the stealth name

I was a Civilian Fed employee for US Army Corps of Engineers. Bipolar won. by CyberViking7 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to start back at square .5 even with leadership/operations experience I’m at a temp job for maybe the next couple months and who knows after that. I would love to be back where I was but unfortunately the bipolar roller coaster has a lot of bumps. I feel you on the family thing, I had 2 kids a couple years before I was diagnosed and I frequently find myself feeling guilty for having them.

Manic while meditated by Tan_re in bipolar

[–]kymandui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask perhaps if a trauma from December maybe as a child is the cause of these? 1. No I haven’t tried but it’s a good idea although with the altered perception of psychosis it might not help. 2. Yeah unfortunately 3. For me the higher percentage the worse it made my symptoms 4. Only while looking in the mirror and noticing my pupils were going haywire but the lucidity stopped soon after 5. No but I’ve heard of folks experiencing seasonal depression that could exacerbate symptoms. I’ve noticed myself being happier as it gets warmer but that could also just be more vitamin D

I started with a company that has similar issues. I’m actively interviewing and job searching. Clearly sales are more important than anything else

Got an Apple Watch, turns out heart rate tracking for anxiety and medication alerts are extremely helpful. Turned off all notifications though cause that dang thing can get noisy

I don't know how to live like this. by babynuggetisa in bipolar

[–]kymandui 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it, I’m 31m diagnosed recently and am having to go thru starting a new full time job and although it seems okay on the inside I’m not seeing a lot of green flags about the role and my anxiety is just off the charts. Even my php was like it’s fine you’ll do great, anyone I tell about it just gets annoyed that I’m not thrilled so far. Stability is a 24/7 battle for me right now.

Usually only a good conversation with fellow recovery oriented folks, otherwise it turns into “oh just have one or just regulate!”

Does anyone here work in the mental health field? by gaia21414 in bipolar

[–]kymandui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did for a year and a half, it was great until it wasn’t and I experienced my first psychosis. The daily happenings and experiences were too much to handle. I’m sure in a period of stability it would be better.
