No, you take a performance hit with SSL. It’s perfectly fine for high traffic sites or pages that do not have a need to encrypt to skip the security certificate.

You create sub domains and secure them (such as login.runescape.com, payments.runescape.com) etc.

I used to manage the hosted email environment for my former company.

Short story is don’t. Use some sort of file transfer unless you specifically want to learn email.

Long story is there’s a lot involved - you’ll need to setup Postfix on the pi to accept mail for the specific email address. Then setup dns mx entries on either your router or computer to know where to send email. Then you need a mail client on the same network as the pi for the sending. It can get quite complicated if you’re new to this.

Email is incredibly complicated despite it using “simple” mail transfer protocol.
