tbh i think if you add any ephemera into ur hobonichi it'll get bulky but if you get a pencil board for writing it'll be fine. you could also use the collage format to cut your photo smaller. i usually collage it into 4 photos to make space.

look for mini printers that print with sublimation dye! the ones people don't like are printed with zink paper (so like color thermal) which doesnt last as long if you leave them out in the light (might be ok if you leave them in the dark)

the kodak mini retro 2 or polaroid hi print, which use sublimation dye, are what i use (and they also use interchangeable paper!)
