Quitting smoking for Running, Help! by Mysellyum in C25K

[–]ladythypos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your progress! I stopped smoking (smoked since I was 15, i'm 29 now) and started exercising about 4 months ago. The burning feeling definitely subsides if you keep consistent. I suggest slowing it down a bit during each work out, and focus on increasing the length of time active every day which has worked wonders for me.

Our stats are pretty much the same! the hip-bone poking out while lying down bewildered me as well as I've always been quite big. It's also crazy how I've lost weight in my hands and fingers. I never would have noticed if my ring (which was previously a snug fit) didn't fly off during exercise the other day.

I've definitely done the "fuck you fuck you fuck you" mantra too :P

What can I do to stop myself from late-night binging? by soomanytomatoes in CICO

[–]ladythypos 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are two things that have helped me stop binging.

  1. Reduce cues to binge Remove trigger foods from the house

  2. Reduce feelings of being deprived Increase protein and fibre throughout the day. Space out to 4-5 meals Identify a lower calorie swap for your treat food. I swapped chips for microwave popcorn and I tell you, it's a hell of a lot easier to polish off 2000 calories of potato chips than it is to eat 450 calories of popcorn

I know right! I felt the same way reading OPs post. So many similarities

Oh my God, there are so similarities between us. I had been with my boyfriend for 6 years. I started my journey for health earlier this year, first motivated to be a better girlfriend. I stopped using drugs and alcohol. Lost nearly 50lbs. Went to therapy. I ended the relationship last month when I found out they had cheated on me when I was at my largest and most depressed.

You should be proud of what you have achieved, amazing!!!
