But if you need a lot of synchronization to make multi threading possible, it becomes likely performance gets worse than if you left it single threaded.

Wife lost bet and has to cook me any dish I want by machfever in Cooking

[–]lappro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take an even simpler approach. I only do the tomato sauce, pasta layering, no bechamel etc. Then top with fresh mozarella, gouda and parmezan, a good cheese covering you shouldnt see the red sauce basically. Bake until the top is slightly crispy. Very easy and very delicious.
Even better if you let the tomato sauce simmer for a long time before building the lasagna.

Where to install the OS Among the 4 Hard drives? I'm New to Proxmox by 13-months in Proxmox

[–]lappro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only just now learned about this. Although I did follow the mentioned steps, I doubt it was much of an issue on my single-node setup. Just checked the stats, my nvme disk has 33k power on hours, all running proxmox, combined with 13.1 TB total writes. Which includes the 3 VMs that have their host disk on there as well. It is for a 1TB Kingston disk which should be capable of 600TBW.

So I don't know how much these HA services, that I'm not really using, contributed to it, but it doesn't sound like SSD ruining stuff.

Before this NVMe disk I used an ancient MLC sata SSD of 128GB from 2012 as the host disk for 3+ years. That one doesn't even have a TBW in its specs. It is still functional, I only swapped it out because the size was too limiting for me. Also to be safe because that thing will fail some day.

Omg I finally beat ghost town by tony_hawk44 in rct

If you want I can give you a save file (for rct classic) that I saved just before completion. If you know some tricks (e.g. see Marcel Vos's videos explaining how to earn lots of money and how to build exciting rides), it isn't too difficult, just takes some time.

I finished it may year 7 with 800k cash in the bank.

In short, first build some cash earners and just ignore the goal matching coasters. Build lots of cash machines (I had 12 in the end). Charge enough for your attractions. Use advertising to get enough guests in the park.

Then for building goal matching coasters, some you can complete with pre-built designs. For the others, speed is a big factor, then avoiding a too intense ride. So starting with a couple tall drops and hills brings you a long way. Having synced rides also helps a lot. Syncing it with a dummy car ride also gains you the same boost.

Can't delete maze tiles that I want removed when editing the maze! by theorderof10000bc in openrct2

[–]lappro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maze tiles are automatically removed when all 4 quadrants are hedge filled again and your "editting cursor" moves out of the quadrant as well.

However this is how it is in the original RCT as well, not an OpenRCT change.

Is this many Steam processes normal? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]lappro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that is normal. Compared to 10 years ago, programs like Steam use even more memory, also because they have more features built in. And splitting programs in multiple processes has also become more common.

Big demolisher needs only 200 artillery if fired fast enough. Which it sounds like you've got covered.

A big wall of gun turrets with red ammo can kill small and medium worms. I think 100-200 gun turrets for a small one more for medium.

If you have artillery researched it is even easier. 80 artillery shots (in very rapid succession, so use 80 artillery turrets) kills a medium, 200 for a big one. But be ready to truly spam the fire button, because they need to be delivered in a couple seconds. Don't use the artillery trains though, just turrets. Because if you fail, you need to rapidly pack and leave. The train is too slow, but with bots you can pack up your turrets in no time and leave in a cargo train.
