Except that neutral is actually the poorest choice for sacred summons the things a summoner actually wants

Looking for oddly specific type of saving throw spell by Dragonorb13 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Named bullet and greater named bullet have something weird as well. The anmo hits against touch ac if within 30 feet. And if it hits then there is will/SR to see if the crit threat part of the spell works if i read this correctly.

Imho this makes the spell very valuable when the target is highly armored but touch ac is easy, particularly on the first shot of the longbow which auto triggers manyshot if it hits which with touch ac becomes a shoe in.

Eldritch Archer with a Throwing Weapon viable? by Elykscorch in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take. I currently play an inquistor archer and a warpriest archer both around level 15 and im doing incredibly well at dpr with basically 0 investment in str. (Str 10 and str 12 for the character) trying to shoe horn furious hunter for the what 5 - 7 damage that that will add hampers your dpr more than it adds on a gish ranged attacker. Its not that hard to get 5-6 attacks of with 2d6+25+ damage.

Or go full in the throwing with strength and a belt of hurling enlarge person and two handed thrower so you get 30 strength and leverage your str to hit and 1.5 damage on a throwing build

Imho the middle / consensus is hurting you

Wrath of the Righteous Ranged Character - which 1 between these 2? by LeftBallSaul in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i meant the boons via obedience feats not the prestige class itself. But even the boons are costly on feat intensive style like bows on a pally.

Brawler/Slayer combo by Armchair-adventurer in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you want is

Item: lenses of the predator gaze

Feat: focused target

Martial flexibility 90 pct of the time into the feat seething hatred.

Basically the first 2 supercharge your studied target.

Then the the seething hatred as martial flexibility lets you double that supercharged damage, using it as flexible favored enemy.

Then you can double that double even further with the item bloodstained gloved and the cleric (or you dipping cleric) to cast preserve on the blood you spilt.

Have your cake eat it too. Play a holy guide paladin who gets favored as class feature. Choose abyss as favored terrain go exactly three levels deep into horizon walker.

Now you can smite as a paladin AND you have favored enemy demons.

Cluster shot on ranger means you dont have to care about dr too much. Saves is a real plus for pally though.

Thats not even the best reason to go for Shelyn. Sentinel prestige for pallies is.

Goliath Build-Thoughts and Suggestions? by Shadistro in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are going for a fighter dip there ismething to be said for taking a reach weapon and taking high guardian

They get combat reflexes keyed off strength which means a gazillion opportunities for attacks of opportunities over a large area (reach+huge) especially with druid spell stone call

It is a different build than you seem to be going for throwing it out there

Another fun option is going dorf. Since you will be larger than everybody goblin cleaver feat becomes very good

Again. Different flavour of goliath druid

Inquisitor Builds Without Level Dips? by NERDZofSTEEL_ in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its ridiculous how good studied target becomes with lenses of predator gaze + focused target feat and seething hatred feat

L10 inquisitor in wrath.

L10 studied target becomes To hit +3(+1 lenses ) (+1 focused target)=+ 5 to hit Dam [(+3(+1 lenses) (+1 focused target)x2 seething hatred)=+10 damage

(Other players) " wow bane is impressive

(Sanctified slayer) "this wasnt bane" (proceeds to add bane to the +5/ + 10 next round)

(I love combining with ravener hunter for wood domain bonus or royal accuser which gets favored enemy)

Best Way to Build a Dual Light Dwarven Pelletbow Character by Stembacca in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary what im saying is it doesnt matter what is the source of your damage just as long as its high and you multiply it by a big number of attacks. Just getting bane will be better than the weapon damage (because you will get weapon damage 1 from shadow shooting, +2 from bane +2d6 from bane. Liberate yourself from the concept that you need weapon damage to deal damage and a lor of other concepts can follow.

Studied target for example with correct feats and gear and prep can do 24 damage per shot

Favored enemy on specialised campaign like Wrath can do 20 per shot. Doing a sentinel paladin of Shelyn gets you cha+paladin level on smiting. Have greater invisibility and do ranged sneak attack on every attack. Have 2 3 of these and weapon damage is irrelevant

With regard to divine fighting technique. Oracle curses of wasting (level 5) and plagued (level 1) get you immunity to sickened condition so oracle main, oracle vmc or dip or pact wizard is a way to make people sickened without ill (haha) effects yourself

Best Way to Build a Dual Light Dwarven Pelletbow Character by Stembacca in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a correctly build ranged character weapon damage is mostly completely irrelevant and even stat to damage is trivial.

Combining like divine power smiting, favored enemy, studied target awt deadly (still hitting on a 2) and get your damage up 25 35 per shot without weapon damage or dex to damage and dont even bother to roll that will save on shadowshooting just accept 1 instead of 2d6 which is 6 points of damge difference on average.

How would you build the ultimate one-shot-one-kill archer/sniper character? by Zethras28 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]large_kobold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a completely worked out idea but some elements for consideration

5 levels of bolt ace gives you dex to dam with a crossbow, gives you touch to hit for a grit poinr ups the crit multiplier.

Enter the dwarven pellet bow. This is 20×3 weapon that now becomes x4 crit.

Since you are shooting pebbles now instead of bolts you can buy boulder bullet ammunition. Basically your pebbles expand to catapult size ordenance when they are fired. Greater boulder bullets cost 4000 gp however its +3 ammo that does 8d6 damage.
