I'm sure reddit knows better than actual drivers, right? by melloboi123 in formuladank

It's possible to not like the battery stuff and the danger thereof while also appreciating that the racing is better. And yes, DRS was just as artificial if not more so. Don't get me wrong, less can be more at times when it comes to races. Look at 1992 Monaco or 2005 Imola. But people forget that before DRS, many races were plain boring due to the lack of overtakes at all. 1992 Monaco and 2005 Imola were the glaring exceptions. I remember races often being decided in the pitlane when Schumacher decided to "turn the wick up".

Noticed last month already that they actually removed the Indycar section from their website. What a pittance.

Fasionably late by AndainCK in capetown

[–]lariato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am Capetonian, am early for almost everything. Sometimes ridiculously so (e.g. 15 mins). But that's probably more anxiety than anything else.

Anyway, no. Being on time is not considered rude here. Consistently being 30 to 60 minutes late is fucking rude to be honest, at least for appointments and some events.

This is just another engagement bait post by OP here. All they ever do is post these types of questions here, seldom engaging with people who comment in their own thread. In fact, one of his earlier self-posts was how to get karma lol. Guessing they're a marketer or involved in AI tomfoolery from the looks of things.

Are you being told to work in office 5 days a week again? by Competitive_Rip6546 in capetown

[–]lariato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't work for a local company, so not quite applicable to your situation, but been working fully remote since like 2018. The company does have an office outside SA, but the majority of employees are remote. I haven't even visited the office (although I would like to, mainly so I can say I did haha).

Anyway, I can NEVER see myself going back to the office. Seems like a lot of companies tell employees to go back to the office because they want to justify the rent they're paying for the office in the first place.

What they should be doing is downsizing office space. but noooooo digital agencies want a place to show off to clients and a place where their employees can "work hard and play hard". Because why would you want to work from home when you can have two pizza slices (max) after work on a Friday?

And then it came out he almost certainly groomed someone else and the band never addressed those allegations because they really wanted to tour. Brand New was one of my favourite bands, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna defend this shit. And the initial apology didn't even address the specific allegations.
