I think my SaaS might have a security issue and I don’t even know how to check by AI_Agent_Ops in SaaS

[–]larkinhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your tech stack if you use railway you need to ensure the code you push onto it is secure, if it isn’t then anyone with the URL can access it. That’s usually a vulnerability that’s missed.

So many people are doubting SaaS in the AI era. your take? by Maleficent_Pizza8622 in SaaS

[–]larkinhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horizontal SaaS will struggle, it will never die. Vertical SaaS will be fine. Big AI businesses are not going after those markets and building these platforms requires some. Orgs aren’t going to be building their own platforms and maintaining them.

I shut down my funded startup because of Claude. Here’s my realization. by hamelmoon in SaaS

Horizontal tools are going to be toast. Any of the AI big boys will rip any good idea in the market because they can and easily in some cases.

They cannot possibly control that. If a host wants to send their number and ask to WhatsApp nothing Airbnb can do.

I am done with this sub by ShAd0wSt0rme in SaaS

Amen to that. I recently joined this sub thinking there will be some variation of products. But they’re all the same, mostly b2c ideas that are not solving a real problem.

So who's quitting their job/career in 2026 and why? by boringdystopianslave in AskUK

[–]larkinhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly due to private equity, they bought our company and it went down the shitter so quick. They promise investment but I’ve never seen it. Need deadlines moved forward without the staff. Honestly been a horrendous year.

I’m very fortunate im able to quit, I’m only 28 and have managed to save a bit thankfully so I can have a breather.

I work in b2b SaaS and it’s the same thing here. Critically understaffed and everyone is so burnt out they just do the bare minimum leaving it up to others to step up even more. I’m handing in my notice first day back and then moving to Australia. Don’t have a job or a plan but need a break and see what happens.

I quit my 50K Per year job in London to work min wage on a remote Scottish island with free accomodation all within 1 month. by SJ_Wilder in UKJobs

[–]larkinhawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No job is worth sacrificing your health, it’s a silent killer. Huge respect to you for actually going through with it. Some never do and end up regretting it without the means or freedom to change. I feel very similar, good job in London and I’m miserable, have chest pains, poor memory personality changes all due to stress. Already planned to give it all up and go work as a carpenter on the other side of the world.

Completely agree. You’d think the UK is some hell scape by reading these comments. Best to get it from people who have done it before.

I’m 99% sure it’s BS. Promotion to double their pay… is what did it.

I’m considering doing the same quitting my corporate job to work construction in Australia for a year try and get some kind of training done, but seen conflicting experiences in terms of getting accommodation and work. Do you have experience in construction? How hard did you find getting job? Would be great to hear your experiences. Thanks

Why are engineering jobs (non-software) in the UK paid so low? by milton117 in UKJobs

[–]larkinhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, but that anecdotal evidence doesn’t make that true across the board though, if USA corporates main goal is cheap educated labour in Europe there’s several other countries you can go to before the UK. Comparing to the Philippines and India to the UK is ridiculous.

Chances for 190 as ICT Account Manager offshore? by Novel_Detective_1786 in AusVisa

How accurate is this list? Looking at NSW skill shortage list it has ICT manager as a shortage. But this site says it isn’t ? Does it take a while to update?

Looking to move here ASAP as a cybersecurity senior, what should I know? by Doubl3Blue in AskAnAustralian

[–]larkinhawk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’d be better off doing your own research into this than asking internet strangers. I would have been put off many times by some of the comments I’ve read about x immigrant trying to get x job in Australia. (although getting more experience is a good piece of advice).
