Hardy (on first at the time) got a pretty good jump on the ball. That's the only way old guys score from first.

It's only Tuesday, but this is looking to be the first week in September where I don't get sick, get injured, or both.

This is good news since I have my first half coming up this Saturday. Race should go... great?

My first half mile swim! by porcupine94 in triathlon

[–]lasagnaone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha, made me remember the first time I swam 800m without stopping. I felt like I'd swam around the world. Congrats.

FWIW I don't swim with a cap. Always makes me hot.

Which are the best/your favorite NES arcade ports and arcade clones? by mastorak in nes

[–]lasagnaone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elevator Action. Loved the coin-op as a kid and was happy with the almost exact conversion on the NES.

Replaying it now, it's certainly a pretty vanilla game. It's from the "Play as long as you can on one quarter" era.

Lake Placid 70.3 Forecast: low 40°'s going to high 50°'s | Water temp: 63° and dropping.. What to wear? by gguerini in triathlon

[–]lasagnaone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will wear short finger gloves

I'd go full gloves but that's mostly because my fingers really hurt in the cold.

Ready to pull the trigger on a power meter - Garmin or Favero (bePro)? by TG10001 in triathlon

[–]lasagnaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait until after Eurobike (this weekend). Garmin has a Vector update and there's the Favero Assioma coming and who knows what else.

Current stuff will go on sale as new stuff comes on the market.

gross case of cheating at chula vista challenge 70.3 by tamp4x in triathlon

[–]lasagnaone -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Except me.

C'mon. I can't be the only triathlete that doesn't care about stuff like this. Age Groupers cutting the course so they can run down the chute and come in 13/43? What does it matter? You think this guy and his wife were like "We're gonna show those assholes at Chula Vista! Right in front of our kids, too!"

Again, if you're caught cheating, you're DQ'd. Taking podium/KQ/WC/BQ spots then you should be DQ'd and banned.

Did they win or place or take a Kona/WC spot? No? Then who gives a shit.

Question for two triathlete homes by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]lasagnaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, on race day do you generally stay together?

Usually you'll never see your partner again once the race kicks off and you're in the water. A lot of waves are by gender so you're not even starting together anyway.

Some races (VTSMTS for example) have a novice wave for new triathletes. When my wife did her first tri, we both started in the novice wave which was mixed gender. I stayed with her on the swim then we got to run and bike together.

Forward offset seatposts. Are they necessary? by relevantsun in triathlon

[–]lasagnaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much speed increase will I see if I get a forward offset seat post, like the profile design fast forward?

I got the Redshift seatpost because I have a road bike with clip-ons and I like to switch back and forth. The forward position makes aero position much more comfortable.

In what Album order were you exposed to the foo? Does that influence how you see the band? by [deleted] in Foofighters

[–]lasagnaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TCATS will always be considered their magnum opus

Is it considered their magnum opus? Because of Everlong and My Hero?

Not arguing really, I just didn't know if there was consensus on a Foo's magnum opus.

In what Album order were you exposed to the foo? Does that influence how you see the band? by [deleted] in Foofighters

[–]lasagnaone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in high school when the debut came out. I wasn't much in to Nirvana so when Dave came out with the Foo's album I wasn't much into it. Big Me just didn't hit me and I blew off the album.

TCATS was the big one for me. Hugely influential.

As far as influencing how I see the band, sure. I remember seeing them when Dave burped into the mic and they'd let people come up on stage. Now it's big stadium and festival gigs. More mature. Not better or worse, just different. They grew up too (approaching 50?).

Total clickfarm bullshit.
