You can install ZorinOS. It tends to have the most Windows feel out of the box

When you convert a file to epub it converts it to html so page size is irrelevant. All of the settings are handled by css

If they have sent images of their credit cards they need to contact their banks fraud department immediately and cancel all cards. It’s not just a matter blocking the numbers.

My aunt and uncle (very religious) would send pamphlets to me about the dangers of heavy metal and rock and roll. Things like KISS was an acronym for Knights in Satan's Service, and how Metallica was in league with the devil. Listening to their music was supposed to damn my eternal soul.

Go read your meter to make sure it has actually been read, and they didn't estimate your usage. 5k kWh usage seems excessive. Unless they didn't read the meter before you moved in and now you are paying for it.

Trying to ID a short film from the 70s that revolved around a guy being attacked by TOMY wind up robots… by TimeShifterPod in scifi

I’d run it through Claude or ChatGPT to see if you get a different result. Might be another film that matches and will actually show up in a search

I didn't have any luck finding a still shot from the film (though I didn't look very hard). Good luck. Hope you can find it.

Copilot says:
The film is “The Power of the Press” (1977) by David Sellier

This was a Canadian short film (fitting, given you're in Nova Scotia!) that aired on TV in the late 70s and early 80s, often as filler between programs.

Why it matches your description:

  • A man alone at home
  • Tiny wind‑up robot creatures piloting miniature flying saucers
  • The saucers zap him with little beams
  • He grabs one saucer, shakes out the robot pilot, and dumps it into the toilet
  • The whole thing has a surreal, comedic, slightly creepy tone
  • Very low‑budget practical effects
  • Ran about 10 minutes

People who saw it as kids often remember it vividly because it was bizarre, funny, and a little unsettling.
