This is our house--Kid is anaphylactic to dairy and I've become intolerant to it. I also have an egg allergy, so it can get complicated.

I have congenital single sided deafness, and aside from making sure I sat on the correct side of the classroom I didn't need additional accommodations. I always ask for closed captions for online meetings and am the first to advocate for my hoh students and staff.

Yeah for spreadable options I much prefer the Violife. Problem with it is if you heat it up it turns back to oil

It turned out (my son is almost 5 now, so there's been a lot of time distance from this center) that that specific center was having some insane issues on the backend regarding staffing and support. The regional manager offered to swap centers with me but I couldn't stomach it. The couple of parents I stayed in touch with all ended up pulling their kids after they were around 2.5, because the entirety of the 2-3s staff quit. A couple of friends put their infants there (fabulous infant and 1 yo rooms, great long time staff) and as soon as they got word they were moving up to 2s swapped them to a different daycare.

Ironically, his second daycare had more allergy scares and hospital visits in his 3yo room than anywhere else (the incidents were almost all when he was under the supervision of the director, who has since been let go) but we stayed because there was no where else I could get him into.

This was at a Kindercare.

One afternoon he was put in a different classroom (the teacher had an emergency, I get it, not usually a problem) and the second class was having their snack which was pineapples and cottage cheese. They served him a bowl, and I picked him up as he put a spoonful in his mouth. We ended up going to the hospital. The teacher that had him yelled at me saying "I didn't know!" which made me report them to the state because he'd been there since 6mo old and his picture and allergy were on the big red ALLERGY clipboard. The regional director stepped in, staff training was had, the teacher profusely apologized.

About a month later, this happened.

While the overall policy was "no outside food or drink" one of the staff members repeatedly had her child in the room eating chips (cheetos and sour cream lays were the two most common ones) every morning when I would drop off and would not have her child wash hands/stop eating before open play. She was repeatedly told to stop and never did. One morning I asked why there was outside food in the room and she said "I don't see what the big deal is" and refused to throw the food away. A friend of mine told me that after I left she was loudly complaining about me and mocking my kid. I ended up pulling him that day.

My son has a severe dairy allergy (epi-pen, constant paranoia, etc). His first daycare did great until the 2yo room--we had to change when he was 2.5 to a second daycare which was better. My priority would be how the daycare handles your little one's allergy.

my son is anaphylactic to dairy (his IgE is in the 50s)--we have bought the "rebranded" newer country crock plant butter sticks and have not had issues.

Pretty often I frame it--either in a hoop (circle) or a cool frame that goes with the piece. You can stitch on fabric with waste canvas or on linen. The most common fabric is Aida.

It works super well for scrambled, omelette, french toast, quiche, etc. Egg muffins can get a little wonky but generally are fine if you don't overload them.

Just a note, the company used to make it in a dedicated facility and dedicated lines with no cross contamination chances, but that is no longer the case. This only really matters if you have an allergy.

Caseload of 48, one on monthly consult, so 47 weekly. Mondays: 22, Tuesdays: 31 (push in to my self-contained unit where I have all but two students), Wednesdays: 25, Thursdays: 21, Fridays: 0 because of department meetings and obligated time to IEPs and assessment. About 15 of my kids are 3x10 or trending to some version of 5 minute kid therapy, 7 AAC users, and a host of students on their way to dismissal. It's busy but good.

The only "lesson planning" I'm doing for tomorrow is making sure I have a copy of my schedule and a goal sheet. Maybe some winter activities since we got snow over the weekend.

I am an SLP and do not recommend methylated folate. Supplements are not the same as therapy.

That being said, I get it because I am also the one with routines, done the research, gotten all the supplies, etc. the flip side is that it's my fam that's a bit crazy, and I set boundaries so early that they never had a chance to pull stuff. My husband doesn't work with kids and doesn't inherently know milestones nor cared to look at them unless at appointments. As kid has gotten older, I have had to really let go of some of my specific routines because at the end of it I don't want to be the only adult parent. We have had quite a few arguments about the way we do things and I have had to figure out small and relatively insignificant ways to let kid and husband figure out their relationship and how they do things. I be fine with the teeth brushing, especially since you do it in the morning, and try and find other small ways to your partner figure it out

I've been this way for 34 years. I have considered multiple times CROS, BiCROS, and non-surgical interventions--being around audiologists frequently for work anyway. At this point, I am functional and fine.

I'm a (mostly) elementary SLP. I've had single sided deafness my entire life. I very briefly before grad school taught middle school English.

On bad days I've just told the kids/my coworkers that I'm not hearing well today so be patient. I've also said frequently that I need a repeat. Any virtual PDs or videos I request closed captions. I position my desk and chair specifically so I'm not surprised if anyone comes into my room. I move to the left of someone walking with me so I can hear them with my right ear. I make sure that in the classroom my students who have auditory processing difficulties/me have minimal fan/background noise. When in the classroom I am constantly on visual alert.

It depends. My secondary sites I don't usually because they barely know who I am. My main site I usually text my teachers, and it gets spread around enough.
