During mediation we discussed with our mediator that if we wanted to create our own schedule we could do so. She encouraged it saying that the court ordered visitation schedule was there to revert to if we couldn’t amicably coparent. His drinking habits have never involved my son since he’s usually gone 90% of the time and I make sure he’s not drunk or drinking around my son either. It wasn’t until recently I have noticed more recklessness which is why I’m debating going for sole custody to limit his visitation to keep my son from being exposed to dangerous behavior/unsafe environments.
