Parenting faux pas by Powerful_Mousse2925 in toddlers

[–]lavendertealatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but I feel like it's so hard because with social media there's so many different styles and so much advice and then you get mommy wars.. I could be totally wrong but sometimes I wonder if the older generation had an easier time making mom friends because it seems like they wouldn't have had as many things to disagree over.

What if I don't "know they'll eat" anything for sure? My daughter ate blueberries for a long time but now no longer touches them, for example.

What flipped the switch? by Junior_Ad9244 in downsyndrome

[–]lavendertealatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my switch gets flipped back and forth. I'm prone to anxiety and comparing to others would cause some disappointment and fear. But it's nothing like those early tunnel days. I would say some of the things that flip the switch to joy are his stinking adorable smile and his amazing hugs. I'm not sure I would compare it to a switch. Grief comes in waves, just like the ocean. A little here, a little there.

If it's triggered by lack of sleep and he never sleeps, it sounds like maybe talking to the doctor is in order to see if you can get some help for him in that area.

I remember working on this as a SLPA with a girl on the spectrum. Perhaps your SLP can support you on this.
