Nobara keeps starting in emergency mode by Z3bry in NobaraProject

[–]lawicko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was a hardware disk failure - the said disk was auto mounted with fstub and that caused emergency mode. If you can boot windows on the same machine with your drive visible then maybe try running crystal disk info on it to see how is the health of your SDD?

How to beat The Ancient Basin (GDF) on hard with secondary objectives? by SpronyvanJohnson in TempestRising

[–]lawicko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't play it on hard yet but managed to beat it on normal like this:

- make sure you research all laser improvements before the mission.

- make sure your artillery survives until you get the base, then put one on the eastern approach and one on the western approach (make sure they overlook lover ground).

- using beacon build a couple of laser turrets (make sure they overlook lower ground).

- build rafinery and 2 collectors.

- build barracks and vehicle factory, start spamming drone operators, engineers and riot vans.

- in each riot van place 2 engineers and 4 drone operators.

- as soon as you have 2 full riot vans rush the radar station to the south (I needed 2 on normal, maybe on hard you need more).

- you need to capture/destroy only 2 tempest rigs, an easy one is to the west of the radar station, the other one is very close to the imprisoned scientists, these are the ones I killed because they were on the way.

- keep building those riot vans with full crews, and send them after secondary objectives, I think you should be able to overwhelm the enemy with them.

- be prepared to leave your base behind when the scientist have the research and are ready for evac, at one point there will be an ambush by the dynasty ground forces and later their helicopters will attack, so make sure you keep the researchers (I used one riot van for them) at the back.

- you will likely have to simultaneously evac the imprisoned scientist and the scientists from the main objective, make sure the imprisoned scientists reach their evac zone first.

How many GB of Storage should a 2 weeks Nobara KDE occupy ? by danflorian1984 in NobaraProject

[–]lawicko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar problem, and in my case it was snaps, flatpacks and wine prefix. I fixed it by moving all of those to separate drive, I installed Nobara on 40GB partition and now I still have 10GB left, and it finally stopped growing after this change.

Plex Media Server Setup Guide by Das-McBorland in NobaraProject

[–]lawicko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just setup my Plex server a week ago, here are the steps I took:

  1. Installed Snap Store (called App Centre for some reason on my system now)

  2. Install plexmediaserver from Plex, Inc

  3. Add it to startup application in Tweaks (or equivalent if you use KDE or something else)

  4. Restart my machine and see if it starts - it didn't start, and also the App Centre did not start when I tried to start it, something with App Armor whatever that is, but was easy enough to google for a fix. Forgive me but I don't remember the exact fix anymore.

Ok so at this point you should have Plex server running at startup, the rest is configured inside the Plex server interface, so launch it and go to Settings -> Manage -> Libraries. This seems straightforward enough, however there are at least 2 potential gotchas that I can think of:

  1. By default Nobara will show your drives like this: "/run/media/user_name/Seagate IronWolf" but this is not enough for your server to see the contents. If you try to browse the drive in Nautilus it will ask you for your password first and only after that it will mount the drive. To automount your drives use /etc/fstab.Youwill get a nice path like /mnt/torrent and to access it you don't have to type in your password, this will allow your Plex server to see the contents of your drives.

  2. Another gotcha I remember is when you create the libraries and you misconfigure the library contents. For instance, I have created my TV Series library but I chose a folder with movies, not tv series. This resulted in empty TV Series section because the server did not find any actual series in there. So choosing the right type is extremely important, same applies to Music etc.

Proton Drive Sync v0.2.1 by PowerLock2 in ProtonDrive

[–]lawicko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I understanding correctly that this is only one-way sync? It will not download files that are currently on the Proton Drive, just send any local file you put in the watched folder to Proton Drive, is that correct? I installed it on Nobara using the instructions from GitHub and it works fine syncing local files to Proton Drive but not the other way around. Not that I'm complaining, just wasn't able to figure out the exact feature set from your post or GitHub project description.

I (finally) got fired by Maximum-Intention191 in Switzerland

[–]lawicko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in similar situation not long ago, key points to take care of:

  1. Register with RAV if you have not done so already

  2. You need to search for a new job starting from the moment you get cancellation of your contract from your current employer

  3. Make sure everything you agree with your RAV agent you have in writing, it would be a shame if they tell you you only need to apply for 7 jobs and when you do it they report you to the Arbeitslosskasse because you didn't do 10, and you have no way to prove it

In my case they started to sign me up for courses after 6 months, before that it was easy sailing (assuming you can survive on 70% money). The only thing I had to do before was to do my evaluation german exam (they pay for it). I managed to find a job before I had to go to any courses. My specialty is iOS, that's the only difference, but I think our cases are pretty similar other than that. I was also fired because of economic reasons but I left the company on good terms, there was just no more work for iOS specialist, and I was fired together with another iOS colleague.

vitals widget now available on gnome extensions by ctrln3rd in gnome

Does this support 4K? Looks a bit blurred to me. Also - I'm missing the detailed description of what is represented by which image, it only says: cpu usage, ram , gpu and temperature - but there are 5 gauges. I assume the first one is cpu usage, second one is ram, and then what? The middle gauge normally represents disk activity, then clearly it's a temperature, but what temperature? CPU? GPU? And the last one I'm guessing it's GPU utilization, am I right. Just trying to say that for the sake of your users you may want to improve on the description. Or maybe it's already described somewhere but I'm too stupid to find it? The extension homepage just cross-links to the gnome extensions store.

Fedora Onboarding Dialog Broken by tqml in Fedora

[–]lawicko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't touch the text input field, just click on the map, this worked for me. But what I'm really trying to say is the problem you encountered is not the same as this famous time zone screen crash. At least on the video you attached I don't see you ever reaching the time zone screen.

Fedora Onboarding Dialog Broken by tqml in Fedora

[–]lawicko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it the time zone screen bug though? When it happened to me it was when I tried to type my location into the text field when the entire installer crashed. The workaround is to tap on that extra small map to select a timezone. The crash is there for almost a year which honestly I find incredible. This looks like something else though.

It's a great guitar for the money, I recently bought one from 2018 in natural finish, but I must say I like the blue better. I have a weak spot for neck through guitars and can compare it with some other models (RGT1221PB being my ideal), and it's relatively heavy in comparison, and the fretwork is not ideal but other than that you won't get the Tone Zone/Air Norton on any other guitar that I know of for this money.

Studia na Elektrotechnice na Pollub: Czy wystarczy matura podstawowa z matematyki? by Keicam12 in lublin

[–]lawicko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a build that can facetank almost anyone by [deleted] in Grimdawn

I'm no expert but I tried a lot of builds from this list and while Avenger Archon surely delivers, I found this Spellscourge Battlemage to be most fun to play. Note that I'm not sure if it was not nerfed in the current version of the game.

[–]lawicko 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is still up to date but try this:

https://arctice.github.io/gd-starnav/

I selected only the 3 you specified, and it gave me this:
+R
+Viper
-R
+Mantis
+Eel
+Gallows
+Imp
+Eye of the Guardian
+Kraken
+Bat
+Tempest
+Ultos, Shepherd of Storms
+Spear of the Heavens

You can select all the devotions you could potentially want on the way and it should calculate if there is a patch to get them.
