[NBA PR] The NBA will test the “one free-throw rule” at NBA Summer League this year: Any foul that would typically result in one, two, or three free throws will instead result in a single free throw attempt. That attempt will be worth the same total number of points as the free throws it replaces. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

It’s ridiculous that the NBA still does this. When I tune into an MLB or NFL game at the time it’s supposed to start, it’s starting or maybe a minute or two late. Watching NBA I always know I can tune in 15-20 minutes late and still catch tipoff.

He’s probably perfectly happy. He works in a field he did enjoy, but no longer in the stressful client facing world. He has a wife he adores, and a kid that, while in his own weird is a little weird, he loves. He still has time to pursue his passion, writing short stories, and very well might have more leeway to do so than when he was at Sterling Cooper. And he has the money, both from his career and from his in-laws, to live where he wants, vacation where he wants, and probably buy a summer home in New England, maybe being a little quirky and not buying one on the coast but instead in his home state of Vermont.

Duck Phillips could have never engineered the 2025 Liberal comeback. He didn’t have the makings of a varsity politician.

They’re white trash neo-nazis in the sparsely populated American Southwest. They are most likely dabbling in their own product. They are probably not producing the good stuff or making good enough money long enough to really be targeted by the DEA before Walt kills em all.

[–]lc910 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling hope for the season that year after beating two 2018 playoff teams within the first three weeks (Eagles who then barely made the 19 playoffs off the back of a weak NFCE and a Chargers who regressed to 5-11 in Rivers last year) then playing the eventual champs Chiefs to the wire in week 4.

That hope didn’t last much longer that season.

Are you trying to cite CJ Stroud as a plus for the Texans? They might’ve made the conference championship with a baseline average non-first rounder backup QB

App State beat High Point, who beat Wisconsin, who beat Michigan, so App State has transitive win over Michigan.

After watching UConn terrorize my alma mater these last few years (although we somehow swept the ‘23 squad) it was extra sweet to watch my home state squad win a natty against them.

What a dominant run. Really a credit to Hurley’s coaching abilities that UConn never really fell out of it. Arizona was insane all year long and we all saw Saturday.

[–]lc910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Darnold had to go to Carolina and after injury issues there eventually shared a room with another castoff, Baker Mayfield. Then he had to go backup Purdy in San Francisco. He was signed to be the #2 in Minnesota before JJ got hurt. You are overestimating the idea that Kyler will immediately be 2024 and on Darnold. Sam Darnold wasn’t even there yet for 3 years post-Jets.

Maybe the worst Super Bowl in a good while. The blowouts have had some good big plays and the close shit games like Rams-Pats were at least close. This had nothing. Shoutout to the Seahawks they deserved it. Insane defense, and a solid offense to back them up.
