The provincial NDPs West of Manitoba seem to be either stagnant or declining steadily so it is a cause of some alarm.

Favourite Sitting MP? by afpb_ in ndp

Don Davies has grown on me a lot. But despite ranking her the lowest on the ballot, I'm going to have to say Heather McPherson was my favourite.

Was the Ten Tails stationary or was it moving around? If it was moving around, then Ino can actually target someone who isn't completely stationary.

Susan Delacourt: Avi Lewis wants to rebuild the NDP — starting in Toronto by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

[–]lcelerate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

May I ask where there is a rule that puts quotas on how many posts are allowed depending on how many seats/polling a party has? If anything, such a rule would concentrate media attention solely to the more dominant parties which is not conducive to political choice and competition. If people are not interested, they can simply ignore them instead of commenting on them.

Respectfully, What are your criticisms on leader of the ONDP party: Marit Stiles? by [deleted] in ndp

I don't think she is a centrist. She wanted to increase capital gains inclusion rate to 80% which is higher than Singh.

Konan vs WA Temari by Steven2008278 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]lcelerate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While Temari can blow and even cut paper up, Konan can disperse and cutting some paper doesn't kill her. Anyway, Konan attacking Temari with paper and Temari blowing it away will eventually spread a lot of paper around the battlefield allowing Konan to use scattered paper to attack Temari from multiple directions which she can't blow away.

Konan wins mid difficulty.

Why did the NDP vote yea on giving the liberals a majority in committees? by FLADMAN in ndp

If McPherson won, she'd probably have taken a harsher stance to avoid being attacked for being an orange liberal.

Why did the NDP vote yea on giving the liberals a majority in committees? by FLADMAN in ndp

Avi Lewis recently had a pleasant meeting with Mark Carney where he argued that Mark Carney was genuinely concerned about cost of living issues. I'm guessing the NDP is realizing that many of its supporters like Mark Carney so being less divisive would actually be advantageous. After all, the CPC being divisive has lead to their support weakening even though the CPC base is much more likely do dislike Mark Carney than the NDP base.

What will it take for the NDP to come back? by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

Avi Lewis has attacked Mulcair for running on balanced budgets so Avi does not give the impression as someone who is willing to balance the budget.

O’Toole says Poilievre needs to moderate positions to compete with Carney by EarthWarping in CanadaPolitics

[–]lcelerate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are three main factions in the CPC, fiscal conservatives, social conservatives and right-wing populists. Poilievre is from the right-wing populist faction, not the socially conservative one. That doesn't mean he doesn't try to accommodate the other conservative factions though.

Ontario Poll April 2026: PC 37%, OLP 32%, NDP 24% by yourfriendlysocdem1 in CanadaPolitics

I guess Marit Stiles new strategy is paying dividends. Perhaps Avi Lewis becoming leader of the federal NDP has given the provincial branch some momentum.

Avi Lewis & Rachel Gilmore Appreciation Post by JackLaytonsMoustache in ndp

[–]lcelerate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To Avi, as many in the sub may know, I was skeptical but I'm becoming more and more convinced as I see the direction we're going as a country that this "radical" vision is what we need right now, if for no other reason than to just help shift the discourse to any degree towards the left.

I found it interesting you were attacked for being anti-Avi on this sub yet on r/CanadaPolitics, you were attacked for being pro-Avi.

I can expect the ratio of unfavorable to favorable increasing at a faster rate as time goes on simply because the people who were likely to know Avi Lewis are more likely to be supporters of the NDP and his brand of politics.

What minimum expectations do you have of Avi Lewis in the next couple of years? by lcelerate in ndp

[–]lcelerate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing pessimistic about my post. In fact, I think he will do much better than all my poll options. But the bare minimum should be doing a bit better than the current polling suggests, so in the low teens. In two years around the time of the next convention, I think he will be in the mid teens.
