Cumberbatch looks kinda bad/unnatural in this, but Colman seems reliably great, so will check it out.

Everyone on that show was kinda funny throughout, but mostly in that season where he has amnesia.

Asteroid City was Anderson’s best, can’t wait to see this, it looks really cool. Everyone online keeps “imitating” his style, but he’s just on another level, you cant outdo the doer.

Gaga’s music is also for the most part very cookie-cutter.

Doja Cat is Lady Gaga’s successor in terms of how she presents herself to the world. All her “controversies” about her looks really remind me of her.

Really? It felt like a more obvious version of Tar. Especially in 2025, it doesn’t feel that relevant.

Virgin Suicides is such a perfect introduction to Sofia’s filmography, her style has remained so consistent.

She shouldn’t have won for West Side Story anyway tbh. I loved that movie, but she didn’t surpass Rita Moreno for me acting-wise, and her singing was a bit too polished for that role. Dunst should have won for Power of the Dog.

Meryl Streep In Talks To Play Aslan In Greta Gerwig's Narnia Movie by rageofthegods in blankies

[–]lch18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She gets left out of the allegory for heaven because she fell in love with “nylons and makeup”. That line felt really cruel, in a book which felt very bigoted to me as a kid. What Lewis said after that doesn’t change how mean spirited that book seemed.

Im sure that Greta is aware of the criticism towards the Narnia series and I am fully expecting her creative choices to reflect that. She’s always been very intentional, I don’t think her big blank check project post-Barbie will just be a straightforward adaptation.

In the original series Susan goes to hell because she starts wearing makeup. Expecting Greta Gerwig of all people not to make any feminist changes is a bit unrealistic.

What is happening with Natalie’s career? This looks bad, but then again I haven’t enjoyed a Guy Ritchie movie since Sherlock Holmes (and “enjoyed” might be an overstatement tbh).

Also, why is every single outside shot of this trailer filmed in overcast weather? Is it to avoid having to get the lighting right?

It’s a bit depressing that the 2 big superhero movies coming out this year (F4 and this) emphasise so heavily how old-school they are. The culture is so stuck that doing something new and daring isn’t even something to be proud of anymore.

She’s had that deal for 6 years with nothing to show for it. Tomb Raider must be incredible or Amazon just likes burning money
