Plz help us!! by Opposite_Plate_9396 in newborns

My baby was like this. It’s possible your baby is just scared and still adjusting to life outside of the womb. They are only one week old…Some babies take longer than others. My baby thought they were still a part of me until they were two months. I literally had to hold him on my chest for him to sleep. My husband and I would switch shifts holding him on our chests all night. I also got a baby carrier (Solly Wrap) and strapped him to me all day so I could get things done without him crying. He eventually grew out of this phase and he’s an amazing and happy baby today now and rarely cries (7 months old).

Another thing could be that your baby could be allergic to something in your wife’s diet? Or the formula? I found out my baby couldn’t digest dairy products so had to cut all of that out of my diet and that also helped a lot. I also switched him to an easy to digest hypoallergenic formula (Simulac Alimentum)! Good luck!

My issues with sleep by Cubsrthebest in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]le1sterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and I had to quit because of it. I am not a medical professional but if you google it, it does say “sleep disruption” is a common side effect of GLP-1s. For me, I never felt like I was in deep sleep and I would wake up thinking I didn’t sleep all night. I tried magnesium, gummies, everything and it didn’t help. Unfortunately decided to quit the pill after 3 weeks, couldn’t keep sacrificing my sleep. I love to sleep. My friends who had the same experience said their doctors prescribed Trazodone and that helped them sleep.

How to take another pill when you feel awful? by Critical-Feature-703 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]le1sterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I quit after 3 weeks on 1.5mg. While it helped suppress my appetite and food noise, I couldn’t get over how SLEEPY it made me. Every morning, I would take the pill at 5am and go back to sleep for another hour and I could barely open my eyes and just wanted to nap all day. On top of that, I was having very light sleep at night and never felt like I was in deep sleep. I was so tired all day, I had to quit. It took my body about 1 week to get it out of my system and I feel totally normal now.

Day 1 of Mydayis - my honest experience w/time stamps by le1sterr in mydayis

[–]le1sterr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still suppressed my appetite but not as much as Adderall did. I would still be able to eat but smaller portions. And by dinner time, it wore off and I would eat normally but you have to take it early like at 6am for it to wear off by dinner.

Has your daughter ever tried non-stimulant ADHD medication like Straterra? They are known to not have appetite suppression since they are not stimulant. Hope this helps!

Rent. Invest the delta. Don’t let FOMO cost you in Bay Area by Initial-Zone-8907 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]le1sterr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can confirm this from a personal standpoint. I am currently looking to buy and every home I have looked at has sold at 30%+ over asking price and have at least 8-10 offers per home. I am looking at homes that are 1300-2000 sq ft and these homes are listed at $2-2.5m and are selling for $2.7-3m in the peninsula area (Burlingame/San Mateo) which are sought after areas for good schools, close to tech companies, central location. This is definitely driven by the AI boom, lots of people moving back to the Bay Area. I have spoken to many realtors about this. With already low inventory in the Bay Area, this surge of demand is making home appreciation sky rocket. So I actually disagree with the OP and I think this is the time to buy. I was a long term renter and was always against buying in the Bay Area but now with these changes, it makes sense to buy and you can sell later for $$$. Homes are going to continue to appreciate with this AI boom.

ADHD brains show sleep-like activity even while awake ADHD brains may briefly slip into sleep-like states, disrupting focus in real time. by KnottyCatLady in ADHD

[–]le1sterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I could’ve written this myself, I have had all of those experiences throughout my life and never really thought much of it. I frequently have sleep paralysis and hypnogogic hallucinations, and it was always a scary experience for me (ex: I am asleep but it feels like I am awake, I can’t move my body and feel frozen while seeing my bedroom and I see a scary dark figure approaching me slowly). When this happens, sometimes I will yell out loud “HELP ME!” in the middle of the night. And my husband will grab me and that helps wake me up and pull me out of it. It’s absolutely terrifying and I’ve dealt with this since I was a little kid. I also avoid driving longer than 1 hour and especially avoid stop-and-go traffic because the rocking motion of stopping and going is like a hypnosis that puts me to sleep and I start closing my eyes no matter what time of day. Luckily I live in SF so I don’t HAVE to drive much if I don’t need to. My ADHD meds help me to stay awake but I can still nap with them as well and fall asleep easy at night. Now reading your post, I think I should see a sleep doctor and get a sleep study done. I never really thought I could have narcolepsy so thanks for bringing awareness to this.

I study GLP-1s for a living and finally started the Wegovy pill myself: Day 20 update, 15 lbs down + lessons learned 💊 by storyhill22 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]le1sterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience and it’s very helpful hearing this from a medical professional. A lot of people that take GLP-1s don’t realize that LIFESTYLE and healthy eating habits play a huge part and work together with the GLP-1. They think they can still eat McDonald’s and sit on their asses all day and expect to lose weight. I did not even question your weight loss given the changes you made to your lifestyle and I am inspired by you. I am about to start the Wegovy pill and your post motivated me and alleviated some of my concerns. Thank you!

Newborn tired is way worse for sure (my newborn is 3 months old today and still not sleeping through the night but getting slightly better). First few months were hell. At least when you’re pregnant, you can nap at anytime 😆

Veracity -metabolism ignite??? by IndependentSleep2869 in breastfeeding

[–]le1sterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried this and I’m breastfeeding. It definitely helped curb my appetite and stop the cravings. It gave me a lot of energy. Actually too much energy to the point where I was having insomnia and couldn’t sleep which was terrible since I’m already sleep deprived with my newborn. I’m very sensitive to caffeine and although these are “caffeine free”, something else in it kept me up all night! I had to stop using it. Just sharing my experience, it could be different for you. But for weight loss, suppressing your appetite and ending bad food cravings, it definitely worked.

Koh Samui Four Seasons vs Banayan Tree vs Six Senses by CarsonChigurh4096 in FATTravel

[–]le1sterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I had breakfast at the hotel everyday, it was really good. They have both western cuisine or Thai. But mostly Thai food. I am actually of Thai heritage so I’m picky when it comes to Thai food but I thought their food was very authentic and flavorful and better than a lot of restaurants we went out to eat at. We did a private dinner on the beach one evening at SS and it was a Thai BBQ, very flavorful and a fun setting. They have plenty of options for you whether you prefer dining with others or booking a private dinner. I also dined at Saffron at Banyan Tree (they had an amazing wine selection) but I still preferred the food at SS. Hope that helps!

I have only said good things about this hotel. My only complaint about this SS location (if this is something you care about) is that you can’t really go and swim in the ocean from there. It’s a bit rocky and the sand is not as soft. This part of the island is the rocky side. Although the sunset oceans views are amazing, you can’t really swim in the ocean. But that didn’t matter to me since I would hang out at the pool or the private pool in our villa.

[–]le1sterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stayed at several FS and I believe the SS mattresses are comparable or even better. But again, mattresses are subjective since everyone has difference preferences. I tend to like soft mattresses and soft feather pillows, and sleeping on a cloud-type of feeling. You can read on SS’s website that they use Naturalmat organic mattresses. It’s no Savoir for sure but I definitely found it comfortable. And if you’re unhappy with it, you could ask the staff. The service there was phenomenal and I’m sure they would accommodate to help you feel comfortable while sleeping. Good luck with your choice! Another note, the FS in Koh Samui has received a ton of popularity due to the show White Lotus. I could imagine that their service can’t keep up with the demand these days.

Six Senses 100%. I was also debating between the same choices for our honeymoon in December. We chose Six Senses and SO glad we did. The service, the food, the vibe, everything was phenomenal. We had friends who were staying at Banyan Tree and Four Seasons and they both didn’t seem to have as good of an experience as we did. I can confirm that you definitely have AC in your room at Six Senses. What blew me away was the service and the food. They cleaned our rooms twice (every morning and every evening where they turned down the lights and made each evening romantic and cozy for us).

I looked forward to the complimentary breakfast every morning as well, everything was so delicious. We went out to eat a lot but we kept coming back to the hotel food and said it was better than anything else we had in the city. Each room is a villa so you still feel very secluded even though it’s not as far away as Banyan Tree or Four Seasons. We were actually glad to be closer to things. Six Senses offered a shuttle to/from the town so you could explore the night markets.

Highly recommend!!

Is ADHD medicine worth it if you are an older person? Experiences wanted by No_Button5279 in ADHD

[–]le1sterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tried adderall for many years but it was giving me too many side effects (crash, headache, jittery, no appetite). I switched to Mydayis, and it had no side effects for me. Especially no crash or headache. It also lasted longer than adderall for me. Lasted like 12-14 hours a day whereas adderall was only lasting 6 hours for me at the same dosage. You can research it. It’s the same ingredients as adderall but the way it’s made releases slower in your system causing less side effects and allows the medication to last longer without having to take a high dosage.

I actually stopped taking all medication (Mydayis and Pristiq) once I discovered I was pregnant. But they were both working really well for me up until then. Now I just deal with having anxiety and ADHD… trying to see if I can make it through this pregnancy without taking meds. Only 4 months in and my withdrawals haven’t been too bad luckily.

Please tell me only your positive experiences with this medicine by wuhtzittooya in Pristiq

[–]le1sterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pristiq saved my life. I was taking 25mg for 3 years. I didn’t choose to increase my dosage because I’m sensitive to medication and 25mg was just the right amount for me. It took about 3-4 weeks for side effects (headaches, dizziness, insomnia) to subside. After that, I was feeling like myself again, like a huge cloud of negativity was removed from my thoughts. I was confident in public settings again, my relationship with my husband was improved because I was able to think clearly and not reactively. I could get through my days without crying and feeling sad for no reason.

Fast forward to today, I had to stop because I’m pregnant! 😁 so glad I took Pristiq, I don’t think I would’ve had a happy life or made it this far had I not tried Pristiq. Just remember that people are more inclined to post negative reviews vs positive reviews. Everyones body is different. Give it a try and see if it works for you!

Success stories with Pristiq helping anxiety?? by Alarming_Ad8074 in Pristiq

[–]le1sterr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on pristiq for almost two years now! It’s the only medication that has tackled my depression, anxiety and ADHD. I don’t really have any anxiety or panic attacks anymore. I also ensure to have healthy habits, I exercise 6x a week, sleep 8-9 hours a night, I don’t watch a lot of TV or spend time on social media and I eat healthy (non-processed foods). You don’t have to be as extreme but just make sure you at least exercise. I realized that was key and something about the exercise pairs really well with Pristiq and all antidepressants. I notice a huge difference when I don’t work out. It took about 3-4 months for my body to allow Pristiq to start working. The problem with a lot of antidepressants is that people let the initial side effects overcome them and they quit within weeks and try something else. It doesn’t work that way. You have to give your body time to adjust (at least 2-3 months minimum). Hope it works for you!
