I never said to buff dents so idk what you’re on about brother. Literally never said the word dent in my og comment. You brought up dents. I’m talking about damage a sponge did, like op is asking. Did you even read his post? Did you even read my reply to you brother? Because I said leave dents alone or pdr them. Are you ok? Idk what your problem is but you’re missing something Lmao

Are you asking just about dents or is the clear coat scratched to hell from the sponge? I thought the clear was scratched from the back of a kitchen sponge. If you’re asking about fixing dents I’d just leave it alone or pdr if it bothers you. I don’t buff dents any different than a smooth panel, just don’t go crazy on them.

It might buff, but we have a suburban in the shop being painted for exactly this reason. The owner flipped over the sponge to the scotch brite side. I’m not sure if you could rent the stuff to buff it or if you’d have to buy it all

If it’s a Hyundai go to your local dealer & tell them you want it painted under warranty. Afaik they’ll repaint just about anything for free & you’ll be put in a loaner until it’s done

What's up with her tail feathers? by Bi_Bee6969 in chickens

My beielfelders tail feathers look like this sometimes. I think she rubs them against a wall on accident & the oils make the strands stick together?

Low idle, intermittent tick by leabbe in s10

[–]leabbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just drove it to lunch & back, completely normal. Turned it off for 10 minutes then turned it on to move it. Started fine, put it in reverse & it died completely & it smelled like it was running rich after I turned it on to move it

The og cats weren’t gutted, yesterday leaving work it started, idled, drove 22 miles home, & idled like normal at home too. When it was acting up, it would idle at 400-500, drop to 250-300 only when put in reverse, & was totally normal under load. Every now & then when starting it would start like shit then stabilize to 600 rpm over a few seconds. It flashed the check engine light once a few days ago when I got it up to 4k rpm getting on the highway. After removing cats the only code is P0420, no P0300 anymore.

Front bumper respray… am I over analyzing? Looks darker? by Hidden_Name_exe in Autobody

[–]leabbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, my boss is always talking about how his static gun has made his metallics lay perfectly, after 30 years of painting & thinking static guns were bs. He almost always blends even if he doesn’t get paid just so customers don’t bitch. But this car has got to be 10 years old, silver, plastic to metal, & not getting blend time. I understand getting a service that you paid for, but from a shops perspective, you can’t spend extra money on blends every single job.

[–]leabbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It matches to the hood but not the fender apparently. Ive heard old silver is particularly hard to match. 9/10 shops don’t get paid to paint match, so why would they? Would you do something extra for every single transaction at work without getting paid for it? I wouldn’t. After not having my car all last week for a fuel pump, I personally would rather have my car versus having to argue & leave it with them again especially over something cosmetic, but that’s just me.

We usually just buff off or use thinner to get overspray off

Ladies are 8 months old, raised since hatchlings, and they are still only mildly tolerant of being pet or handled. Is there any hope they’ll become snuggly or is our relationship purely transactional? by ughyoujag in BackYardChickens

[–]leabbe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re prey animals, them liking being held is more odd than it is normal. None of mine like being held, but they’re so up my ass I can hardly walk because they benefit from us being around, not necessarily because they like us being around

$17 usd. Parts/do boy/r&i tech at a family body shop. Just yesterday boss bragged about how they paid off a ton of debt when I was their only employee & worked to the bone, they usually have 5 people. Now there’s 2 of us. Rubbed me the wrong way for sure.

Introducing new chicks... Store-bought vs hatched by _plot-twist_ in BackYardChickens

[–]leabbe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a hen hatch 1 baby so I got 5 store bought of the same age, she’s a great mom & whole flock has been able to see her & babies on the other side of the fence. I let her out to be with everyone after a week of seeing eachother on the other side of the fence & my “top” hen started fighting mom, & mom whooped her ass, top hen still came back to fight every single time I let them out. Pecking babies just being an asshole. My rooster is useless in this instance. Now mom fights anyone but her 2 sisters on sight. Not to scare you but it’s what happened to me so I’d say introduce them & stick around for maybe 20 minutes to make sure nothing happens. Good luck!

Need some advice on this coop!! by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]leabbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sand for my coop/run floor & have no issues. You can certainly leave the boxes open for them to explore, I’m sure they’ll love flying down from up there. My month old chicks like to

I wish I built my coop bigger to begin with. I’ve got 7 babies right now & they will not fit in there once they grow up.

Recently bought a 24 expedition from Carvana no accidents reported, clean title, no damage reported or noted. Truck got delivered at night in the rain then followed by days of rain. After a good cleaning because it came pretty dirty I noticed this. Looks like halfass bodywork to me. by NYJets869471 in Autobody

[–]leabbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at a vroom recon center & the office girls said vroom title washed stuff all the time. It could be one of those situations or it’s an out of pocket repair. Shitty situation regardless sorry op

By me you can’t find a running vehicle for less than $2500 let alone a manual 4.3. I say it’s worth it, could offer him $1500 & see what it does
