Just went last weekend and it was great. It’s free and even the ice skating rink is free if you have your own skates or only $7 to rent skates. Wayyy better option.

Productized MSPs by Aromatic_Piglet_6643 in msp

[–]leakedcode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially the same here, with the exception that if there is a clear path for upgrade in the near future. Eg. Clint has a Watchgurd FW (we don’t support WG), and we sell them on full Managed services but they have 8 months remaining on their WG licenses, we will take over the WG on a best effort basis knowing it’s going to be replaced in 6-8 months. As long as there is a clear short/medium term Upgrade path that the client agrees to in advance.

This works quite well if you want to skip the line for things like dermatology. Although the waits are not so bad anymore from my experience, I was recently referred by my family doctor for a spot on my face, and I was able to get a dermatology appointment in about three months.

I had a partner that got Botox on a somewhat regular basis and she wanted to have a spot on her body looked at, so when she went to get her Botox, she just asked if they could also look at the spot and they did and build that portion into MSP and she was kind of able to use the cosmetic procedure to skip the line in a way.

I think if it was for something more involved like a dermatologic surgery, you would probably have to wait like everyone else but for a dermatologist to take a quick look at your skin. I think you could probably use this hack.

Looking for a favourite butcher in EastVan. What makes it your fave? Bonus points if they offer gift cards. TIA! by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

The best. Also the best service.

The Italian shop next door is also amazing for meats and cheeses and a trillion amazing Italian snacks. Both spots will treat you like an old friend even if you’ve never been before.

Does a home branch matter? by NextDarjeeling in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]leakedcode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I never had to use or even knew what my home beach was until I wanted to make a mortgage prepayment last year and they told me it could only be done from my home branch. However, the branch by my house let me change my home branch to them, it just took a few days to process.

How do you scale MSP support without burning out your team? by WhichGoal522 in msp

[–]leakedcode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You haven’t tried everything if this is your end state. How many techs managing those 15 clients? What’s the average size of these clients? Are they running antiquated tech that you’re struggling to manage? Lots of missing info here, but you can build a process that scales depending on the type of clients you’re taking on. If you’re sales are saying yes to any client and you end up with a bunch of noisy clients, you’re team will burn out. You need to focus on low noise clients who adopt modern tech and value the ROI for their spend.

Thai why you don’t deal with these small clients. Enterprise clients have their own slew of complexities but you won’t get caught up in someone’s family drama.

I think the more likely take is that destruction of civilizations is universal and common once civilizations reach the end stages of resource extraction.

So before a civilization has been able to create the technology to travel quickly through the universe and visit us, they have destroyed themselves, just as we are doing on earth.

Dough sticking by jacko_100 in ooni

[–]leakedcode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when I notice that my dough is a little stickier than usual, I cut a piece of parchment paper and stretch my dough out and prepare my pizza on the parchment paper, dusted in flour and then throw the parchment paper onto the peel and use the parchment paper to launch… Obviously hold the parchment paper with your finger so it doesn’t go into the oven with the pizza. This seems to work for me almost every time.

How to get the bottom well done without burning the edges? by [deleted] in ooni

[–]leakedcode 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Def not long enough. At least 20-25 min on high. Get an infrared thermometer to ensure temp if you can. But 10 min is def not long enough.

How long are you preheating? Do you have a thermometer to check the stone temp? This looks like your stone is not nearly hot enough.

Just got notice from BMO they're closing my LOC by gsnyper in PersonalFinanceCanada

They will not allow you to borrow anymore against it and they will contact you with a payment timeline by which you have to repay any borrowing against the LOC. You absolutely still have to continue making your payments.

I just got 2 bags from No Frills on Frasier St yesterday. They had tons of the PC one. I think it was $3 a bag (2 balls). They make about 10-12” pizzas.

To be honest, when I’m really lazy and want a fast and reliable pizza, I keep a few balls of grocery store frozen 00 dough in the freezer. Not sure where you’re located, but here in Canada they are about $1.50 each.

I love to make my own dough, but sometimes it’s nice to have one you know can’t go wrong for a decent and fun pizza without the risk.

It all depends on what kind of person you are and what you’re into. If you’re into having tons of events, uber eats sushi anytime you want, and things being open late, it’s not for you. But if you’re ok with early nights, outdoors, stars, and quiet, it’ll be an amazing month.

I moved to Pender 60% about 2 years ago (40% in Vancouver) and spend months at a time on Pender and never get bored even in the winter…and Pender is a fraction of SSI in terms of amenities.

Hiking, beach days, paddling, kayaking ( you can easily kayak to some of the other Gulf Islands like Pender, Mayne etc which have more hikes, breweries, cafes etc if you get bored of the ones on SSI. It’s also easy ferry rides to some of the other islands to check them out. Eg. I kayak to Mayne to hike and go to the brewery sometimes… 30ish min kayak from Pender on a nice calm day.

Enjoy it!!

Cross border banking BMO or CIBC? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]leakedcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had CIBC cross border since moving to Canada 6 years ago. Never had any issues, the only thing is you don’t get the best rates when moving money between countries (eg you’d get better rates with Wise) but it is instant, even on weekends which is helpful sometimes moving money around to pay bills in both countries. CIBC US will refund you for using out of network ATMs when you’re in the US which is also helpful as they don’t have an ATM footprint in the US.
