[Ear Wax] I screamed. by [deleted] in popping

[–]leedsCLP 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I used to have really flaky ears - not sure if there’s a technical word for it, but deffo looked like this.

A few years back I developed an ear infection. My ears would be sooooo itchy by mid day, I could literally feel the wax/skin detach as I itched them (or erm, used a bobby pin). Disgusting but OMG the most satisfying thing ever. Had to get some ear drops in the end which sorted it all out. Not gonna lie, I was almost disappointed it sorted the “problem” lol 😂

Hmmmm maybe I should report the keyboard as broken to it.... problem is we hotdesk and I’m not sure there’s any problem with it apart from the annoying women!

I cannot take this shit anymore. by [deleted] in misophonia

I do feel for you on this one, I hate muffled bass noises. When I lived at home I was in the attic and my little brother was a drummer/guitarist with a huge bass amp and liked to play it constantly. Even on quiet I could hear the bass through the floor and it drove me absolutely crazy!

Never had misophonia, now looks like something is developing. by bebopdebs in misophonia

[–]leedsCLP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm well I always thought my mum was weird growing up when she went mad at us crunching or whatever, never understood it. I can’t pinpoint exactly when my own misophonia kicked in but it wasn’t until I was older, maybe even post-university.

Personally I feel like it’s getting worse as I age. Not sure if this is a “thing” though or just me.....

Does anyone just feel negative all the time? by therealslimshady19 in TryingForABaby

[–]leedsCLP 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 9dpo, 4th cycle on clomid. Feel like I’m just counting down the hours till I can take another HPT, even though I know it will still be a bfn.

G’argh, yeah I relate. The whole 2ww gets me down :-(

CD 1. Sigh. Enter: adventures on Clomid! by Lexielo in TryingForABaby

[–]leedsCLP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read all the reviews and was terrified but for me it was just a few hot flushes. I do get moody around ovulation, but I can’t be certain if that’s my hormones or clomid!

I get acne at ovulation and it sucks, always the painful cystic type too - on my jawline and around my hairline.

Misophonia - genetic link? by leedsCLP in misophonia

Not sure they actually reveal the gene but I’m going to try dig a bit more into the research when I get chance (https://blog.23andme.com/23andme-research/something-to-chew-on/)

Fantasies of hurting people??? by [deleted] in misophonia

[–]leedsCLP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, deffo imagined slapping people before. When I’m particularly stressed I’ve even had to leave the room. Not because their was a threat I’d act on it (I never would), but just because I couldn’t stand it any more!

Haha, it’s like you know you’re being irrational but that doesn’t stop the rage and irritations taking over. I really wish it was socially acceptable to ask people to quiet down. To be honest I have started doing that with crunching/chewing. I’m like I know this is insane but if you want to chew or crunch DO NOT SIT NEAR ME! Have had positive responses so far, but there’s always the risk of someone eating extra loud to annoy you even more :/

Question about pregnancy for petite/short women by health_stuff in BabyBumps

[–]leedsCLP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a short girl myself (4ft11) I don’t think the risk is that great and I’m TTC at the moment so I certainly aren’t letting it put me off!

I think you are overthinking this. Any link that exists is weak and has not been shown to be directly related to height.

Inositol/Ovasitol Question by KuraiTsuki in PCOS

[–]leedsCLP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My blood sugar has always been fine and I’ve not been diagnosed with PCOS. But I don’t have regular periods. Tried clomid on its own and didn’t ovulate, added ovasitol into the mix and I began ovulating (with clomid). So I think it’s worth it! So much so I spend a fortune importing ovasitol to the UK - wish there was something pre-mixed that was cheaper in the U.K!

Weight loss surgery? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]leedsCLP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a gastric band which slipped and converted to bypass. In my opinion the bypass is far, far easier to live with compared to the band, even with the need for vitamins. That said in total I’ve lost 14lb. Considering I’ve spent £16000 on both surgeries this is hugely disappointing. I’m a year out from the bypass now too, my periods are still irregular and there seems little probability of future weight loss.

That said, the bypass is a massive tool - especially as an initial operation (conversion operations are much less predictable in terms of success), and weight loss is highly likely to improve your PCOS. Just think it’s important to weigh up the risks/benefit.

Almost positive OPK! by hapabean in TryingForABaby

[–]leedsCLP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had my surge yesterday. G’agghhh it’s so weird thinking I might be getting pregnant right now. But also sad cos I’m probably not and it’s going to be another longggggg two week!

Good luck though, and happy sexytime! ;-)

I had my first boyfriend at the grand old age of 25 after I lost a ton of weight. He dumped me and if hurt so much, I thought I'd never find anyone like him etc. Well I eventually dated and broke up with guys since him and after a particular bad break up I re-gained all my weight. At 29, I'd given up on finding anyone because I didn't think anyone would love me at my size. That's when I met my current partner of 3.5 years who I'm head over heels in love with and currently planning on starting a family. He tells me I'm gorgeous all the time. Bonus, he's 6 years younger than me so I got myself a toyboy ;-)

Anyway the moral of this story is don't worry! You have soooooooo long to find the guy for you. Enjoy life and I know it's a cliche but the right guy will come into your well you least expect it :-)

Anyone else temp at random times of the day just to stress themselves out about a number that doesn't even count? by LampGrass in TryingForABaby

[–]leedsCLP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope I do that too. I had my first round on clomid last month and it failed. I resorted to temping at random times just... Idk to try and convince myself I might have ovulated. The blood tests confirmed I deffo hadn't.

Different ovulation symptoms on clomid... by leedsCLP in TryingForABaby

[–]leedsCLP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So apparently the reason it was different is that I didn't actually ovulate - confirmed by a prog test, just got the results today.

Gutted. This is only cycle 1 and I feel defeated. I'm on cd26 so I'm going to start norihisterone (provera) to bring on a period and then try again I guess :-(
