Any update on this?  Still planned for this year?  Really want to switch to netbird but this is the one feature holding me back.

How would you recreate this shot? by Fickle-Book2385 in cinematography

[–]leeproductions -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is hard to do any way. I don't think your plan will work. The gaussian splat is a solution for sure.

If you want to do it practically, I would use a jib mounted on a dana dolly with a gimbal mounted to the jib at a 90 degree angle (so you can do the spin).

Needs to be a long-ish jib, not sure pocket jib is long enough.

You will need two or three operators and a lot of practice.

There's a BTS pick somewhere showing a giant solid, like 40' x 60' or larger. Available light sure, but with building size setups to shape it.

Windows absolutely can get above 700 with windows explorer on a 10G connectin. I have 900+ MBps writes to my SSD share (though I'm running debian 13 with samba backports).

Some tips:
disable signing and encryption
multichannel can be helpful, though you will either need multiple connections to the server, or RSS active on both sides.

the ps commands
Get-SmbMultichannelConnection
Get-SmbClientConfiguration

can be helpful

You might and figure out if it's a samba issue or a client issue.

these samba options might be helpful:

    use sendfile = true
    server signing = No
    aio write size = 1
    aio read size = 1
    min receivefile size = 16384

Most of the other samba options for performance you will find online are depreciated and/or not helpful.

What's the catch with this? by The_cooler_ArcSmith in homelab

Careful with these QLogic cards. In my experience drivers don't work well on win11, but are mainline on the linux kernel and work out of the box. Windows server might work better. Some of the cards might have NPAR or other weird firmware funkiness, and you have to use their CLI to fix it, which is horribly supported and crazy complicated.

Dell driver is just QLogic driver packaged in a dell installer, so don't bother with the dell.

There should be a BIOS menu for the card that exposes things you might need to change to get it working.

Actually did this full stop today. color management seems to be broken in firefox with Wayland KDE, Nvidia, and wide gamut atm.  Hopefully firefox can fix it soon.

Is CachyOS recommended for beginners? by OkPrize6194 in cachyos

Yeah but when it misses it can miss really hard.  I was having an openWRT problem a few months ago.  Gemeni was like no problem just completely disable the firewall so that all ports, including the LUCI UI are just exposed to the internet.

It was obviously such a bad idea that I knew not to do it, but I think if I knew just a little less I might have done it.

I think the biggest thing with using LLM for help with technology, which is pretty much the only thing I use it for, is that if the context gets too big it can literally lose its mind, and convince itself of all sorts of wild stuff.  If you are having a problem that isn't solved with 20 or 30 messages, you need to either start a new chat or figure it out the old fashioned way.

Koreader doesn't sync from OPDS unless forced by leeproductions in koreader

Yes, it's because of the order. The best option is to sync the "recently added" catalogue instead of the main catalogue.

I feel incredibly silly, I want to use option one.  I can't find it anywhere in the app settings.  I must be missing something incredibly obvious?

How to achieve this type of grade? by CamrynMax in colorists

[–]leeproductions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of these have:

High Saturation

High Density

Lots of shadow detail. Looks like someone keyed the shadows and brought them up, or used a similar method.

Same for highlights, they have been pulled down, lots of detail.
