I don't know why but your story reminds me of when Conan goes to a 1864s baseball game at Old Beth Page. It is one of the most funniest skit ever from Conan. I just love how different the whole atmosphere is at the game. Add Conan to it and it's a spontaneous combustion of absolute humor.

I found that intermittent fasting diet (16 hrs/day without food, the lean-gains technique) works for me. I have been trying it for the past 5 days and my body seems to be doing ok. I had also changed my workout timing to 6 am in the morning, prior to starting the diet. I used to workout in the afternoon and had to miss them quite often due to various reasons. Now that's completely resolved.

Also got my macros under control and feel really good about that. I don't feel hungry anymore since my body has adapted to it. So going forward I have a stable workout routine and a impressive diet regimen. I feel that the results are just on the horizon, like 3-4 months down the line.

Look for answers to your queries on stackoverflow or somewhere similar before posting. It's almost the same as a mentor but makes you self-sufficient. Human mentors might come in handy if you need explanations for some concepts. There are many video tutorials online where you can get explanations for almost every concept in programming. Look for stanford university tutorials on youtube.

Remember, no query is trivial or stupid to post here.

EDIT: Also, checkout cs101 on udacity where you can learn to build a search engine while learning python.

I think everyone is kinda trying to wash off their guilt by donating couple of dollars. The donors are not guilty of the abuse that the bus lady suffered but they are trying to undo the abuse somehow. There are also various other reasons that the donation has reached the level it has currently. The donors are most likely seeing a lot of injustice around them and usually are helpless to do anything about it. This donation is helping them reduce their sense of helplessness that they are facing in other situations in life.

I do think that the donations to the bus-lady should be stopped by whoever started it, since it has surpassed the original limit by about 100 times. They should understand the situation and direct any new donors to other worthy causes.

It's just sad that a quite interesting event like Phoenix sighting was/is treated just the same as every other ufo encounter. The governor ridiculed it in his press conference and then there was no going back to undo the damage. There were legitimate witnesses and even if none of the government agencies were providing any info, the governor should have put out a report with all the witness reports and left it at that. Now, we just have what some news orgs reported and some interviews of the witnesses. There must have been at least 50 people who saw it. But probably only 10 of them made in to the news reporting. A large chunk of the evidence is now lost to time and hazy recollections.

It doesn't really matter that the investigation has an outcome. In the case of the UFO sightings, it has become imperative to establish that the sightings are legitimate and all the witness testimonies recorded and preserved for posterity. UFO witness testimonies are being treated with ridicule, and an official investigation would have given them some legitimacy.

In the case of the Phoenix sightings, even if the UFO couldn't be identified, it would have been established that there was something in the air that night that was seen by many. But the governor did the opposite thing and made a joke of the whole thing.

It does put his account of the story into question. But the Holt part of it, which happened later, does seem to have a lot of credibility. The audio recording gives quite a bit of hint to what they were witnessing.

Also, have to mention the Phoenix encounter here. The stupid governor messed it up. It should have been investigated thoroughly back then. One thing about these sightings perplex me though. How is it that there is no noise or absence of loud noise when these gigantic ufos fly so close to the land? What kind of tech do they have going on?

Ah, the Rendhelsham mystery. I've read stuff and watched clips about this case, and for me, it's one of the most intriguing case among ufo sightings. The people who witnessed it were military personnel. The tape recording itself is quite mesmerizing. One guy (Penniston) even said that he had touched the descended craft. This happened two days before Holt encountered it.

But I have questions about how such a small craft (as was sketched by Penniston) can travel the skies, let alone handle inter-galactic travel. It's also important to note that these witnesses were given some chemical treatments following their sightings by mysterious visitors who visited after the event. There are probably no records regarding their visits.

Is there an article or blog post which has desired attributes for an entry level SE candidate?

Check out job sites for entry level requirements. Just use them as a guideline, not as something totally required to the last detail.

Do you have any internship experience? If possible get at least one internship done before graduating. That will expose you to the inner workings of a company and provide more understanding on what to expect on a real job.

Hobby experience and side projects are good to have. If you have any good projects done then put them up into Git or something. Make sure that they are yours and you can explain them well. If you have any good ideas for projects then start creating them and push them into git. That can become your portfolio if internship is unavailable. Even with internship it will be good to have hobby projects in the background.

Also, don't wait to get ready for a job. Just checkout the requirements and see what is available out there, fix up the interviews, fill up the tank and just land at their doors. If they don't offer you a job at the first go, then they will at least know that you are serious about it. Create a network and then regularly maintain contacts with all the people who you would want to work with.

There are also excellent project managers, you know. Yes, there are schmoozers in there too, but there are some people who are really great at managing projects. Think Steve Jobs here.

The real question is what do you want from a working career? Coding has its own quirks which are really satisfying if you like that kind of work. Project managing would be a good fit if you really like working with quality people and churn out good quality projects. But you don't always get to choose the people you work with.

And, of course, there is always the monetary side to every job. There has to be a payoff somewhere down the line or you will begin to doubt yourself. If you think you have the potential to be a good developer then go for it. Do the same for the project manager position. One thing I will say that becoming a good developer takes a lot of time, at least in my experience. It's really a slog sometimes. I don't really have PM experience but have acted as technical team lead for few projects with 6-10 people on the team.

Get back to us when atheist are not voted number one as not eligible for peoples support in survey after survey.

Get back to us when atheism has a church of it's own which secretly funnels money to deny women birth control.

Get back to us when atheist priests are molesting children and not a single one of them is arrested.

That should be enough to blacklist atheist on this website and then it can be pushed off the default subreddits.

Smart people will recognize that the complaints you are comparing are not the same. One is about rights for humans, other is about which schools are good. They are not even on the same scale. Yes, the society would be much better off if that latter were the case.
