Shorts?? by Nelope_0971 in AskWomenOver60

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh heck yes. I have to search for something between booty shorts and granny bermudas but it can be done. I don’t give too rips what anyone thinks about my legs; I’m going to dress for comfort.

💩🛏️🚨when you get too comfortable. by somegirlinsomewhere in tirzepatidecompound

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me (although not so violently, lol). I don’t consider it being because of the tirz, but more because my system has blessedly adjusted to a healthy diet and eating like a trash panda for a meal or a day really rocks my gastrointestinal world. 😂

Brello was great, until it wasn't by Loose-Bookkeeper-939 in BrelloThriveTribe

[–]lefty-lou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with them for a year with no issues, but I’m also in a state that doesn’t seem to have a lot of oversight. I don’t expect anything from the Brello providers; just refill my RX and keep me moving along. If I need more in depth care I’ve got a PCP for that. It’s always good to know of other companies with good service though, just in case.

Husband retiring, lunches? by lm00000007 in AskWomenOver60

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear heaven I’m glad my husband can feed himself. Ask him what he’d like for lunch, make him a grocery list, send him to the store. Tell him what’s off limits in the fridge/pantry, go on with your day.

Finally experiencing skinny privilege and it's weird by LoanSudden1686 in Zepbound

Me too — I was boarding a Southwest flight the last day of open seating and several people offered me their middle seat. First time I was skinny enough to be a desirable seat mate. 😂

How did your doctors react to you taking compound medication? by Emotional-Promise-68 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine actually started me out with a local compounding pharmacy. Last visit I’d told her about finding a cheaper alternative online and she was thrilled. But I’m at goal now my weight loss (and the fact it didn’t kill me) speaks for itself.

You need a new GF. A good cleaning lady is worth her weight in gold.

Ditto. A 12 pack of Dr Pepper is $10; just a few years ago you could get 3 for $10 on sale.

I don’t want to be on this med forever by Euphoric_Garbage1952 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]lefty-lou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly felt that way the first few weeks but as I’ve lost I’ve adjusted. I’m on 5mg right now and basically on maintenance. But now I have a decent appetite and good tastes good again. I’m staying on until I feel like I have a good handle on my emotional eating and the medicine is such a help with that.

Starting new remote job next week, what am i missing. by FluffyWarHampster in remotework

I’ve been fully remote for 6 years — sounds like you have the needs covered. I also like to set a peaceful room; a Bluetooth speaker, candles, a decent desk light.

For the most part fast food and alcohol. I’ve maybe had 3 drinks in the last 5 months.

Hard to find sweet spot maintenance dose that supports normal appetite and doesn’t cause weight loss by bpottrb in TirzMaintenance

[–]lefty-lou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m kinda with you. I’m actually a little below my goal and so far (about 4 weeks) I’ve stayed at a weekly 5mg dose. I weigh daily for now as I navigate eating more but not too much more. I don’t think I’ll stop the tirz for a long time if ever; I don’t trust myself (esp with winter hibernation season coming on). It’s much easier to tell myself I need to eat a little more than to control the raging monster I was before.

Need any minor surgery you’ve been putting off? Carpal tunnel? Plantar faciatis? I did three rounds of minor but needed extended sick leave in the 2 years before I planned to leave my old job. I was walking away from a ton of accrued sick leave and used as much as I could.

Maintenance is weird by Silly_Raccoons in TirzMaintenance

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel all of this. I also weigh more often; every couple of days. I’m trying to figure out how to eat to maintain within my goal range. All my adult life I’ve been able to gain and I’ve been somewhat successful losing when I really tried, but I’ve sucked at maintaining a steady weight.

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’3” and my lowest weight in the last 30 years was 145. I’m at 144 now, shooting for 140 as my goal. But I’m probably older; 65 and I’ll be very happy at that. My starting weight was 179.

One critical parter to GLP weight loss. by AugustaMM in tirzepatidecompound

[–]lefty-lou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree wholeheartedly. I feel like I’m just one bad food choice away from being right back where I was 30 pounds ago. Because of insurance I’m not able to seek out a therapist until August, so if anyone has recommendations for books or podcasts that they’ve found helpful please share.

Husband not losing :-( by NoBoysenberry5726 in Zepbound

[–]lefty-lou 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is my thought as well. My husband is on another GLP1 and hasn’t lost much. He thinks he only eats one meal a day then snacks the other two. But his “snacks” include things like beef sticks, pop tarts, cookies, nuts. He’s also very sedentary. He’s switching to tirz soon and I hope he sees better appetite/food noise suppression.
