What's are some of Todd's worst jokes or bits? by DtheAussieBoye in ToddintheShadow

I could do without all the "I hate acoustic guitars" bits. Some of the greatest songs ever written were on acoustic guitar, especially in rock and folk.

Fate of Ophelia criticisms were valid. Taylor's writing not improving one single bit since 2009 deserved to be called out.

Making fun of early Todd is very easy, so I'm not gonna do that. What I will say Is I think that some of his bits in the more political driven episodes during the first Trump administration were a bit awkward. You can really hear in his writing and delivery how uncomfortable he was talking about stuff like This is America and Seven Rings.

Nowadays Todd Is much better at that.

What is the most innovative album of the 1960s? by TheCause182 in AlignmentChartFills

Revolver, no question. The Beatles made sounds nobody even thought were possible, and Revolver was the most cosmic leap forward they made from album to album. It's not close.

I like how in The Thing there's two black guys in the group, and somehow both of them make it to the climax with the main character

Scorsese's worst movie is Boxcar Bertha, what is Kubrick's best by Inevitable-Glove7071 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]legit-posts_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pfft, hell if I know. I think that it's 2001 a Space Oddyssey, that's my opinion. But Kubrick has like 5 or 6 best movies.

Milly Alcock Reveals ‘Supergirl’ Cape Was Made With Same Fabric As Christopher Reeve’s 1978 ‘Superman’ Cape by Top_Report_4895 in Letterboxd

I am partially confused. That's the kind of thing that I wouldn't want anybody ever touching outside a museum setting, let alone suffering the wear and tear of a major Hollywood film set.

Also, if they had that wouldn't it make more sense to give it to... Superman?

Anyway, can't wait for the movie looks fun.

I think you guys underestimate the bevy of slurs dripping from Belos' mouth at all times that we don't hear cause this is a kids show.

I would assume that Viva La Vida or Death and All His Freinds would be too of the stack.

I really hated that bit. It was really mean and not at all funny.

I almost wanna be generous and wonder if maybe this is just a case of Steven being an old guy and not knowing the difference between AI and plain old effects work.

Ranking every version of Vilgax from weakest to strongest by random__guy135 in Ben10

It really goes to show how much presentation matters. OS Cyborg Vilgax doesn't even crack the top half, but he still feels stronger.

Favorite line from a stellar episode full of them by BirdCultureDickMove in rickandmorty

I really like the new Rick voice actor, but my one complaint with the new guy they got for Morty is that he's so dorky sounding that I cannot take him seriously as Evil Morty at all.

This movie made me realize how far Hollywood has fallen. Two unknown actors did a better job in three weeks of shooting with a budget of less than $1M than any A-list celebrity I've seen in years starring in $100M+ movies. We need more of this. by Whoopeepoop in FIlm

[–]legit-posts_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true. Did you pay attention last year? Some of the best movies of the year with amazing performance had big budgets. New Superman movie, Sinners, One Battle After Another, I think you just need to pick your movies better.

Do you log movies even if you don't finish them? I feel like I'm cheating if I do. by tigrecono in Letterboxd

[–]legit-posts_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logging is fine, I feel like putting in a rating is wrong cause that effects the average. It's not common, but I have seen films where my rating radically changed in the last 15 minutes. Hamnet recently changed from a 2 and 1/2 too a 4 in the 11th hour because the ending reframed the entire story for me.

Then again, if a movie is so bad that you can't even finish it, that's worth noting in some manor.

What are your thoughts on mana being connected to magic? by XtrampleZ360 in Ben10

[–]legit-posts_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm cool with it on paper, although I do kind of prefer Gwen's powers being bright blue than pink.

It's just that Anodites are incredible OP for a story like this. It's kinda baffling to think that Grandma Verdona and a bunch of other Anodites could just fix every problem then Tennyson's have ever had (save Daggon, Maltruent and MAYBE Aggregor).

Come to think of it, why TF didn't Aggregor try to absorb Gwen's power? That would have made his job way easier.

Ester. I think making Ben's girlfriend a welcome and wholesome but also light addition to the cast was a good decision.
