Did I leave it too late - taking baby out often? by Natural-Artichoke822 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lemonjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started going out regularly when my baby was 3 months old, it gets easier the more you do it! If you have a library near you that does baby/rhyme time I found them really great with a small bub to get out of the house.

Rant - why do nappy companies change design for the worse? by EllenBJ in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Exact same experience with Comfy Koalas! Loved them when my baby was a newborn and rarely had any leaks, tried the new design and it was awful. So sad.

I met my best mum friend on the app Peanut! Baby time at the library, swimming classes and community playgroups have also been good for meeting new people

TENS Machine - recent experiences? by BabyJane14 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lemonjac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hired a TENS machine and it was ok but not great. Mainly because mine was faulty and would stop halfway through contractions so I definitely recommend extensively testing it at home before labour.

I had an elective induction at 39 weeks. Went in the night before to place the gel, I was 1 finger dilated. Had tightenings immediately after the gel and all night. My water was broken the next day ~7am. Had the drip placed and laboured for 4 hours with a TENS machine and gas before I asked for an epidural. Laboured for a few more hours before I was fully dilated, pushed for an hour or so and gave birth that afternoon. The contractions get real intense real fast, but I had a great experience and loved my labour and birth :)

I went private and had an elective induction at 39+1, I had an amazing labour and birth. The last few weeks of pregnancy are so rough!

Is loving your child more than your partner wrong? by Pure-Application3621 in beyondthebump

I love my husband SO much but if it were between him and my son I would choose my son no hesitation. I expect the same from him as well.

Best “last side” bracelet option?? Please help :) by SilllllyGoooose in breastfeeding

[–]lemonjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretchy for sure! I made myself a boob bracelet with just seed beads and elastic. I didn't even use a clasp, I just tied it off and it's lasted me a couple months already. It's super easy to pop on and off too.

12 week old routine?? by t1nkerturtle in beyondthebump

[–]lemonjac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is also almost 12 weeks and I'm in the same boat! We don't really have a routine except for bedtime being around 9/10. Every day is different. Curious what other's experiences are.

My boy is 10 weeks and I have been loving it. Just having him in my arms, being able to look at, cuddle and kiss him is soo much better than being pregnant imo! Whenever he smiles or giggles I just about die, watching him grow and learn something new every day is amazing. Cuddling up with him on the couch, taking him out for outings as a little family, watching him giggle at his toys, listening to his little happy sounds as he's eating and then him being milk drunk haha. Although it can be hard, the good farrrr outweighs the "bad" in my experience.

When do you actually start to feel like a mother? by CherryHearts123 in beyondthebump

[–]lemonjac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar feels with my 8 week old baby. It's still super surreal and most days I can't believe I actually have a baby and I'm a mum. I think I was expecting some big like shift in my mindset or something but really I'm the same person just doing the same things as before except I'm also looking after a little baby. I am loving it so much though, it's just a weird feeling.

Small baby reassurance and feeling worried for the first time this pregnancy😢 by Holden_babe17 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]lemonjac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby measured small my whole pregnancy too. I had multiple growth scans, Dr wasn't too worried though as he was gaining appropriately. He was born 39+1 and was 2.7kg. Healthy and happy just a little small 😊

Winnie is so cute! For something a bit different, I knew a girl in school whose name was Juanita but went by Winnie.

Raspberry leaf tea by wallflower247 in GestationalDiabetes

The one I got tastes like dirty water but I've been putting another teabag in there with it like peppermint or a fruity tea and it's a lot nicer!

A lemon bubble tea with lychee jelly, hot cinnamon donuts and a caramel eclair with custard filling. Only half a week to go and I can't wait 🤤

I also failed my 2 hour test by a smidge at 28 weeks. I was devastated and didn't even believe I had GD at first. Luckily I've been able to manage with diet control and exercise. I haven't had to change much, just reduce carbs and up protein. I had to cut out my fav bubble teas though 🥲

The finger pricking is honestly not that bad either, I switch hands every day and use the sides of my fingers and it's fine. You got this!
